MrDelete: ok, understood. But there are dozens if not hundreds of tournaments ongoing with brains in them, so it's hard to say which one you mean.
You can go to your finished game list, find that game, open it, and click the tournament link in it.

I am in one and the last game I played I would be the winner just trying to find it to see if it is over .I wish I knew what game it was.

ketchuplover: no sleep , eat chocolate and drank water and espressos , facilities only once , half hour also of stop (my hands were hurting ) . I used my ipadmini , my android , my cell android at same time and the laptop . I have my own connection 5 G
At 4 pm i crashed and stop playing with 2 hours leftt

The Col: I can see two backgammon games where you timed out, they were 2 days, no days off, so vacation days wouldn't be used.

Aganju: Well, just got back, and timed out on two

The Col: vacation is used automatically, no need to do anything.
The setting is for defining your 'weekend' - you can define your weekend to be Tue and Wed, for example, while the standard would be Sat and Sun.

Just enjoy your vacation!

The Col: I am pretty sure all vacation is "automatic" now for paying members. (So no need to "set" vacation days).
But maybe you should make sure "automatic" is turned on, just in case? It's been years since I've used mine, too.

long: I haven't changed my vacation dates in years. I was away from the site for a few years. All I seem to be able to access is the two vacation days. No calendar appears to block off individual days

The Col: The Calendar tab shows up on mine as normal;
Setting -> Calendar -> I cannot choose Automatic Vacation but you can since you're a member.
Did you change your vacation date in the last 30 days?

I haven't done it for years. I go to "settings" , and I can see "vacation in a box , but it's not clickable , and no calendar comes up. I'm leaving for Mexico in 6 hours, not going to be playing.

bug can be fixed quite easily smetimes if you know how the situations can be reproduced
dealing with cheaters needs an almost continuous monitoring and mostly by a human as cheaters are often more clever than the system (or copycats of someone else who was clever)

which games do you like best ?
i thnk brainking was mainly focused on chess and its variants in the beginning but i could be wrong
dailygammon is the best backgammon site imho
jijbent.nl (and its englsh and german version) are like brainking butless chess orientated ... jijbent.nl has a very strong line-game player base for example
the other sites i dont know that well ... i joined a few more but left those quite fast for various of reasons

i did as well .... but appreaently i used the same username and same password .. so now my profile says i joined the site at a certain date (my new account) byt it also links to tournaments i played before my joining date (from my old account) :-)

a new account is all fun ... you can build new stats and discover old new games again :-)

Nice Works: The solution to your problem is obvious. Just block the person and get on with life here on BrainKing. Some people block right fast, but it seems you have tried to set a game playing environment with potential opponents of what you'd like. I understand that as that is what I try to do. I can chat or play without any chatting. Some of the other things you complain about in your profile about a certain player or two I also find unacceptable, so I do not play with the type of person I do not want to play with any more. It ain't that hard to arrange. Give it a try.

As for cheating. A few of us have come across a number of cheaters in Backgammon. I stopped playing them. Fencer has a low interest in Backgammon here on BrainKing. It could be a better game and if you're into Backgammon there's plenty of other places to find it. I play the game, but my interest in it is not as keen as other peoples. As for the cheaters or the rude players that you say run the clock and behave poorly, my advice is, "Don't play them."

No I didn't think you were being disrespectful. And no it wasn't the person I refer to in my profile ( which I need to update. However there is a definite connection between the two as the person I referred too gave the second person his second account. I sent fencer a message weeks ago pointing out the blatant cheating of both.

I also agree that there is no point having a witch-hunt for those that are obviously cheating by having multiple accounts. It seems as universal as pin head Larry. (Joke). It is an unfortunate fact that those with lower moral beliefs will be attracted to unscrupulous options and use them.

For long term users of the site who have been here throughout its development, accepting low life behaviour seems to be more acceptable, with comments basically saying ...that's just how it is now. For newer people who read how brains were the currency including entry to tournaments, it sadly tells the story of a once great site that has lost 95% of its integrity. Yes I have read fencers comments re zero maintenance, however to allow the accumulation of brains by loopholes not to be there and multiple accounts does mean almost zero integrity.

On occasion he has fixed some issues but not blatant cheating. I don't understand that from an integrity viewpoint. I believe having a level playing ground is paramount to minor game issues.
I understand those that are happy to play those they know is a good thing. Like mal4inara, I avoid those I know to be cheating, but have not known of others until playing them.

Perhaps I should not have asked the original question, but I am glad I did. If these issues can't be fixed these people should in my opinion be named and shamed but only if fencer won't take action. It is sad but typical human nature that without policing, some will look to get an advantage over the honest.
