And I have noticed that the times that I actually can't access the site have been for significantly shorter amounts o time. If I try back in a couple minutes, it is usally fine again for me.
On webtv, we don't see the "site is temporarily down" page. Most of the time I get a webtv pop up saying "Brainking.com is to busy to use right now" But again, I too have noticed a definite improvement. Way to go, Fencer. 9. ８月 2003, 20:37:46 件名: Re: how come !!  I have recently implemented a restart-server-if-deadlock-occurs feature. It was not an easy piece of work and it needs to be finetuned. The application server restart is actually very fast - it takes only 5-10 seconds. But the overall site performance can be lower when the server is starting up. When it happens [the well-known "site is temporarily down" page], it usually helps to wait 10 seconds and reload the page. It works for me perfectly.
Of course, this is only a temporary solution. I want to make more improvements tomorrow or next week. 9. ８月 2003, 20:31:23 件名: Re: how come !! I have resigned a game many times when I knew I was going to lose. Not out of poor sportsman ship but to speed things along. Many players do that. He likly didnt mean to be rude at all. I don't see the need to complete a game especially a long game like 10x10 reversi if I know I have no chance of winning. I resign, say WTG gg or what ever and end the game to get on with other games or start new ones. After that close all of IE window. If do not help, try to upgrade IE and FIX your windows by Windows Update.

I haven't been ablt to access this site since Tuesday afternoon australian time and it is now Friday evening :( I have ONE game waiting and when i click on it it gives me their (my opponents turn). I understand Fencer has been having problems as I emailed him direct and he so kindly explained it sort of. It is hard for someone like me when your times is limited to catch up on games....today I have now been playing 4 hours to get thru backed up games. I know it would be very difficult to reach that limit, and i doubt it anyone ever has, but the limit is still there. I think 100 is a little too extreme to limit.
