mook53lhd: No, I'm talking about the Settings link here on Brainking. Click on "Settings", then the "javascript" tab that is in the row of different settings you can adjust. NOT WebTV settings..

rod03801: i have an msntv2 there is no such thing as a javascript seting .it is always enabled.we have it thats it. i have n trouble playing my games or anything else. what are these 4*4 or ctrl5 8* you know all those crazy numbers .the only smiley i can make is :) or (: mook53lhd

Fencer: CCP is fine with the keyboard but the one which can't (so far as I know) be replicated with keys is to copy a shortcut, particularly useful with the "link" feature.

I noticed that the default for this new feature had a number of "commands" included which must then call up other key sequences, is it possible to have a list of all these, or are the ones in the defulat the only ones.

Also, not sure if this possible, but could the windows right click button be made a submenu if the right button javaa script is enabled?

Fencer: ctrl-f5 did the trick. It not only restored the smileys but just out of curiosiety I turned the new feature back on and it's working for me also thank you

Fencer: In Opera several things don't work. The smileys in the smiley window are all displayed in a row not like a table. That's why I don't use it (Opera) on brainking. BUT in Opera it only needs 4 hits on TAB to activate the Move Button - close to a shortcut ;)

I was actually refering to copy past from right click (not ctr A & ctr V) as I dont always sit close to the keyboard and just use my mouse alot. But I have re-enabled the new feature cause I think its kool and wanna give it a try.

Woooha! that Ctrl F5 worked well here. Try it everyone and your smileys will be back.

I've read several reports about copy'n'paste not working when the new context menu feature is enabled.
However, I've just tried ctrl-c and ctrl-v and it works with no problems. I've tested it on Firefox and Internet Explorer.
If it still doesn't work for someone, please send me your browser type, OS and such parameters.

If the smiley window stopped working for you, try to reload this page by crtl-f5. The script was slightly changed and it is possible that the old version is still being loaded from your browser's cache.

'Show context menu (activated by a right-click)'

is blank, your right click will work again!

My right click doesn't work anymore, but my smileys still do, so I'm not messing with anything else!

Alanback, it doesn't work for me anyways, so I can't tell you much. But you might get a better idea if you go to Settings, and then to Javascript.

The new feature did not work for me and the interactive smiley window stopped working. So I turned off the new feature. Unfortunately the smileys are still broken :(

WebTV / MsnTV users, I highly recommend you go to your Settings, and go to the Javascript page and disable everything you see there. It's not compatible with us, and is causing pages to load way slower than they were.

(Actually, I'm not sure if EVERYthing needs to be unchecked.. I haven't had time to test each one..)

I came here today and was very surprised at how slowly almost every page was loading.
I unchecked all that new stuff, and now things are loading "normally".

New feature works fine for me (On Firefox )
Only thing is, I seem to have lost copy paste from right clik. I use that a lot so had to disable the new feature

I disabled the new feature since my right click wasn't working anymore, and now I've lost the smileys. I'm using firefox too.

What is the new feature? I can't see anything any longer when right clicking. And I've lost the interactive smiley window also. Is it something which does not work with Firefox. The settings are still the same.

Niki: The link button will just bring up that one message, and while doing that - you will be able to see what the URL/Link directly to the post is - which is usefull sometimes when you want others to go look at one post, without having them scroll though a lot of things. (Will not hurt anything if you click & try it)

Can someone please tell me how the 'link' button works.. right hand side of msg box. What does it do ? Having clicked on it, I'm not sure if I'm replying in a different way or what ?? :-D

Rose: You can disable the function (like Walter mentioned)

You can also open a link in a new window other ways depending on what browser you are using. For example, in Firefox, you can hold down SHIFT and click on a link to open it in a new windows. In IE, I believe you hold down CTRL and click on a link to open it in a new window.

BIG BAD WOLF: I use AOL's browswer. I've already given up on using those firewalls and things like Proxomotron with it.

People have seen me using the computer with a bunch of windows and wonder how I keep track. I have no problem and it's easier than reloading every page. I just need to be able to access them quickly and not hit the "close window" buttons on accident. Whatever change was made today on the pages is something I didn't like and didn't see any utility for. What exactly does it do? Is there a question and answer page for the changes? Does the Java page for this site have some instructions on it or a question and answer page?

After the change I went to the change link on the new right click. It sent me to the Java page where I found I could disable it. I also checked the drop down games box. I haven't noticed any change. What does that do?

Walter Montego: Yea, I already had to stop for a second because I needed to open something in a new window (not a new tab which my middle mouse/wheel button does), but then I remembered in Firefox, if you hold down SHIFT and click, it will open in a new window. (CTRL and click will open in new tab). In Internet Explore, I think CTRL opens something in a new window.

Pedro Martínez: Yea, I did that. Checked out the site with Internet Explorer and that feature worked.

Have the site open in the newest Firefox, and nothing - it's like my right button does not work on BrainKing.

Using the right button on other open tabs gives me the normal (Back, Reload, save...) But for some reason just brings up nothing while I'm using firefox.
