Teema: Finished Games

Is there any place on the site where I can see the total number of finished games of a particular type?

I see where I can get the total number of running games of a particualr type.  And I see where I can get the number of games of a particular type finished by each of the 50 most active players.  But I can't see where I can get the total number of finished games of a particular type.

MrWCF: at the top of the game rules is a box with Statistics of won games ... add up those 3 numbers and you have the total

i am not sure if games which were finished (give up, or time out) within 2 moves are in there as well .. neither am i sure if unrated games are in there .. i dont think games which dont count for the win statistics of a player are in there

Hrqls: Actually, that number gives you the number of finished matches. If you and I play a '9 win match', and you win 9 games, I win 8, and we have 7 draws, it counts for just 1 in the statistics, but we have played 24 games.

AbigailII: Actually I think it's the number of won games.
If not, in a 2 game match, how would you count it if a player won both games? As a black victory or a white victory?

pauloaguia: I've played many 2-game matches where both sides have won one game. Brainking always reports them as a draw. It counts as a single game when calculating BKR. So, I assume it's counted as a 'draw' in the statistics on the rules page as well.

AbigailII: I think he means that in a 2 game match, isn't it supposed to switch colors in the 2nd game? So if you were black in one game of the match, you would be white in the other game of the match. So he is wondering which color that would be classified as a win for, if one person won both games.

I had originally answered the same way as you, but then I re-read it.

AbigailII: Brainking reports the match as a draw and your BKR is calculated based on match results.
However, those statistics are color based statistics. I'm guessing they refer to game results rather than match results...

But I'm sure Fencer will enlighten us...

pauloaguia: I believe Abigail is right. This game, I mean match, for example, is taken as a win for the Black.

Pedro Martínez: Yeah, it must credit the win to whatever color the winner was in the last game of the match?

Pedro Martínez: Why do you say that? It says you won the game, not that black won...
Also, Horde Chess is one of the most biased games in the site. Because of that many people choose to play it as 2 games matches to be fair for both players. Often these 2 games matches end in a draw (1 win for each player).
Yet, in the statistics, the number of draws is very small... Most of them probably from agreement between the players.

pauloaguia: Go to your profile and click "Finished Games". Scroll down and take a look at the table displaying your last 10 games. In your 2-win Lines of Action match with The Saint, you see that you played as Black and you won. When you click the game, you can see that you were playing as Black in the last game.

As for the Horde Chess, I think it's better to look at this page. You can clearly see there how many draws there have been and you can easily find them in players' profiles. Or, you can download all the Horde Chess games from the Rules page.
