Subject: Further to my post below on alzheimers
here is what Terrty Pratchett has....courtesy Alzheimers UK...

Posterior cortical atrophy (PCA), also known as Benson's syndrome, is a progressive degenerative condition where damage to brain cells is particularly focused at the back (posterior) of the brain, the region responsible for visual processing. This damage to brain cells leads to cell death and loss of volume or 'atrophy' of the posterior cortical regions − hence the name. In the vast majority of cases the underlying cause is Alzheimer's disease.

The death of brain cells is accompanied by accumulation of toxic proteins, amyloid and tau, that form plaques and tangles in the same way as is seen in typical Alzheimer's disease. PCA may therefore be referred to as an atypical variant of Alzheimer's disease.

Although PCA is caused by Alzheimer's disease, it can also be due to other diseases including dementia with Lewy bodies and Creutzfeld Jacob disease. PCA is a rare condition, thought to affect less than five per cent of people with Alzheimer's disease, although epidemiological studies are lacking and PCA has been under-recognised in the past.

(V): I watched Terry Pratchett story 2 nights ago....that was in 2008....how much worse has he gotten since then. For those that dont know him he has Alzheimers - the one that affects the rear of the brain, not the one that affects the frontal lobe. My friend has that, (FRONTAL LOBE) she is 60, and in 18 months she has gone from working in an office and being completely lucid to being completely in another world....she has no idea who she is or where she is going....so sad.

also the post has now disappeared....all we have to do is findout who is banned by the Brainking.com administrator and we will know who it is. me thinks the person concerned copy/pasted to the wrong account, and then realised they were banned and reposted it, but missed the bit about being banned.....just a theory.

(V): spirit???....really???

I have an aquaintance who married, had twins and after about 15 years the marriage broke down and he eventually turned to another man. Spirit? I think not. He explains it as "trying both sides" he is still with the man after 14 years and just loves females. He says he would never go back to a woman, so what would you "categorize" him as.
By the way...are you speaking from experience, and if not where do you get your presumptions from?

There is a lot of racism in Australia...and it is on both sides...black and white....the aboriginals are a VERY different race to other dark skinned people.

In NZ, the Maoris are treated as they should be...extremely well...they are educated and well spoken (when they want to be). The Islanders are treated with a bit of reserve...Fijians, Samoans, rarotongans are looked down upon by the Maoris. There is a lot of hard feelings between these races...so you have black hating black. a different racial tension and can be quite frightening at times.

we have free to air TV of which there are about 10 channels and then there is paid TV which is about FROM $20 per month and owned by Murdoch I think??? and there are hundreds of channels, but licences I havent heard of.

I remember years and years ago in NZ people had to pay a licence for radio.

Übergeek 바둑이: ****I think that drug testing should be mandatory in cases where a social worker suspects that somebody is using social assistance money to buy alcohol, cigarrettes or drugs***

One way around this is to implement vouchers for FOOD (with the stipulation not to include alcohol or smokes), Schoolbooks, etc...This would stop Mum and Dad sitting home all day watching tele, smoking, drinking etc while the kids are at school....Under NO circumstances give the dole bludgers money...vouchers only...perhaps this would also help in curbing drug abuse.
