Have you tried to list it by time, then trying the game again?

Wow, getting ready to play some games, then it looked like all my settings were wiped out - it now has a gray background, with the Rook icon on it - with a 1 minute refresh - showing a tournament... (none I had just about 3 minutes ago)

I'm not complaining yet, but thought I would post somewhere about it. :-)

I need to tender my apologies to all the people I am playing for not making my moves with my usual celerity.
Im starting a business and my girlfriend has a broken wing...
Throw in a couple of really interesting end games which I need to study and an extra tourney starting and i have too many games too little time.
I have used my holiday to stretch all my games and will make sure none time out.

LongJohn, I don't think Bernices post sounds nasty, just assertive. If you have a problem with a post, please contact me and I will remove it if it is offensive. Arguing isn't allowed here, especially when its about fellowships, which should really be on the fellowship board! :o)

I usually get through all of mine on the weekend too. I make sure my games are long enough times so that I do not have to feel 'pressured' to play. Lots of time during the week, I am tired when I come home and do not feel like playing.

i dont know if that sounds fair. i have over 400 games, and i can manage them fine, it isnt a negative in my book, maybe some form of addiction ;o), but i usually run through my list at least once...

IMupChucKing -

Yes, its good
Yes, its for suggestions
Yes, you can debate the merits of a suggestion
Yes, lots of things from there get implemented, or make the 'to do' list (which does get done)

I hope that answers your questions.

8. February 2004, 22:02:26

I can play all of my games within a couple of hours! So it would mean i would be sat here waiting for games to be accepted...I am also quite often sat here waiting for others to move.. but you never hear me complain! It is a turn based site, its up to the individual how often they move!
As someone suggested before, if you want to play quicker, play games with quicker time limits! or fill in with some people who are on line at the time!
I have players who wait till the last minute.. but so what! thats their choice!! I have other games that can be played!

8. February 2004, 21:54:14
sandra...
I have about 300 games going.. I usually clear them all of my moves everyday! So There are some of us with a lot of games who do move on a regular basis and putting little red numbers against our names certainly does not appeal to me!
I quite often put games in the waiting area! So with your idea I would be penilised!!! Ok , so a lot of people i play know i move pretty quick...
but with that idea the newer people wouldn't!!
So I would never get to meet new people!!!

It is because of the anonimity of this site, that people can get away with being so rude in the first place.

I like your idea, maybe a little public humiliation will shame them into playing their games.
And it would help people like me from accidently playing games with these people.

Although, these types probably enjoy the attention and people would be competing to be the one with the most started games.

Subject: Just had an idea...
Ban anyone with a certain percentage of games waiting to be played, from posting on any message boards....

It would force some people, who are unable to use personal control, to limit their amount of started games to how many they can actually play :)

I do understand that many people prefer, and don't get frustrated with longer games. If someone really wants to only make one move every 10 days or one a month, and that is okay with their opponent, thats fine. Just inform your opponent that that is the case, so they know. Put it in your profile... I have many games and will most likely use the whole time limit for every move.
It is the person whoslow plays for pleasure in others frustration that fires me up!

Subject: Re: Bernice's Fellowship
If its not obvious, LongJohn, then it may be a private matter? And probably not one best discussed here. If it really had to be discussed on a public board then the fellowship board is the place.

8. February 2004, 19:18:28
coan.net
Actually I think the first step would to ask the user to leave the fellowship. As long as there is a reason, I would think some users would leave on their own. If they refuse to leave, then that would be the time to ask Fencer.

I think there will be the option to remove them ourselves once BK2 is up and running Bernice, until then, the only way is as Cariad has said :o)

It's your fellowship, Bernice! If you don't want a particular person in there - get rid of them. They play by your rules, or else!

(to add to MM's post) - Just have the person who deleted the invite to go to the main fellowship page.

Since they never accepted or declined the invite (just deleted the message) - they just have to go there and accept.

Thank you Antje for your help.It will described the two possiblities to play chess (or other games)in the internet (My impression is that to play chess in the internet and special at a chessserver is not prevalent in my (only?) country):
1."real-time",an good example is USCL, or 2."turn-based" with Brainking as an example, where you can play chess and chessvariants too.
In the second part there will described the "Three Checks Chess" as an nice chessvariant with some games (The most chessplayers know only the standard chess and not the varants).Perhaps I will continue to describe the other variants too..

Caissus is probably (not probably,i should say definately!) a better translator, but roughly translated it talks about Chess sites on the internet, and the part about brainking says:
"its a very nice turn-based site out of Czech. where you can play up to 20 games for free, and the graphics are excellent, it discusses the variations available on the site, it discusses its own rating system for each variant, and its discussion boards. its a very nice positive advertisement :o)

Send me your questions for the very first paying member on BrainKing! I have played Zetes a lot, and know very little about him (except that he's a perfect gentleman) so I'll be looking forward to this one!
Don't forget to add if your name can be added to your question, or if you want it anonymous. Its nice to see now that more people are allowing their names to be put with their questions! And I think the questions are getting more adventurous too now people have seen how its working. So keep the questions coming!
