How about if auto-vacation days were calculated as minus two days each but intentionally set days were counted as minus one?

The point is that the game would force the opening. I believe it is to eliminate the advantage (like pente). Therefore the rating would work out better as well.

In other words, there is no difference. Players just must agree with several opening moves.

I believe pro checkers is the same as regular checkers but with preset opening moves.

Pro-checkers? Is the version where you do not have to jump?

How about an option to filter the tournament list by creator? BrainKing already stores that information; for example, all of Big Bad Wolf's tournaments appear on the following page: http://brainking.com/game/Tournaments?trnst=10&tp=0&submit=Show&u=2560, so little change would be needed.

Subject: Unfinished games
How about adding a column to the list of unfinished games on profiles: "Started" or something like that. It would list the date (and time?) that the game was started, and the list could be sorted by that column.

Maybe a link where it shows your won lost record against a player, that shows your notes for that person in that game type.

ah!!! nice!! thats what i meant .. the descriptions in the friends screen .. of course its only needed for regular opponents which will probably be in the friends list .. thanks!

after the backgammon prize tournament is over i will be a paying member .. wether i have to for it myself or let the tournament pay for it ... i still have a (very small) chance .. go mary jo! ;)

its nice to have this feature for pawns already as well ...

it would be nice to be able to place notes about certain players strategies per game which could be read when playing that specific type of game .. but for now i have all i need :)

It would be nice to be able to write notes about players and their game habits where they could be kept in a file that could be accessed anytime, not just during a game. If you were to be in a match with someone, you could just pull up their name and see any notes you had on them
.

2. November 2004, 03:21:44

LOL! I have never used that feature :)
Pretty cool!
Is that description listed anywhere else,or accessable anywhere else? It seems it would take up a lot of space if you had a complete game playing description for all of your friends.

1. November 2004, 21:29:06
Kevin
Yes, pawns have the description of Friends as well :-)

and below the board there is a button "add a note"...

1. November 2004, 21:12:40

Hrqls, when you look at 'friends', do you have a box saying 'change description' then a drop down box with your friends listed? If so, you could add your regular opponents there and put notes about their game play. I'm not sure if this feature is available to pawns.

1. November 2004, 20:45:32

There is a notepad for paying members. You can write notes about anything you want there.

Subject: notes about opponents
is it possible to add notes to a certain player ... notes only you can read .. like the notes you can make about the game in espionage .. it would be a nice way to write your own notes to remember certain strategies a specific opponent uses

How about updating the S-B scores while the tournament is running. I know they are meaningless early, but as the tournament progresses it becomes interesting.

When an arsehole deletes a message does it remain, like a species of shadow, for the moderator's records? If not, I suggest that as a feature whereby arguements would have increased back-up, say in the case of patent law, et al.

seems a "hide" feature for notation would be easiest, and possibly helpful in other games....but then again,I'm no programing guru, like Fencer ;-)

Yes, the ranks on the espionage pieces are way too small for tv's.... Fencer is going to be making them easier to see, at some point.

I think all web tv users have the same problem with the numbers, bwild. I know fluzzy does - but I put that down to her being one of the ancients. :)

30. October 2004, 06:13:54
bwildman
is there a way to hide the game notation? if the board were bigger on Espionage...I could read the numbers on the soldiers. Are there any other web tv folks having this problem?
I can read them when the board is 1st set up,but once the game notation appears its too small to make out.

Subject: Idea for chess tournies.
Thematic tournies, where the starting position is prearranged (usually an opening or variation), might be fun.

Also, if these could be user defined?

Just a thought.
