Aganju: I'm not the biggest proponent for auto pass for Ludo, but I think it has been shown that this argument isn't huge. We already have it for backgammon, and it seems to work well. So it seems like it might be appropriate for Ludo too.

I agree with what you point out though.

CleverHunk: Well, in the menu to the left, under "Statistics" there is an Achievement link. You can see the various achievements in a drop down menu, and who's achieved them, etc.

http://brainking.com/en/Achievements?p=1

At the top of your own Main Page, the Achievement points link takes you to your list of achievements, and how far you are from getting the ones you haven't gotten yet.

Modified by rod03801 (26. March 2013, 18:51:39)
Hrqls: It already has a different color. It is a light green border. (All the different "backgammon" games have different colored borders.)

EDIT : Well, correction, all the variations that could be "more problematic" if you don't notice, have different border colors (other than white)

El Cid: Personally, I don't think "no time control" should be allowed for tournaments. Fine for "friendly" games though. That affects only the two people. A tournament affects several other people.

Sure, sure, people can read before signing up, etc, etc, etc, but still, there are liberal enough constraints out there, to not allow tournaments to have this option.

rabbitoid: I searched for when the changes happened, on the Backgammon Discussion board.

Original rules : Backgammon (joshi tm, 2006-12-01 14:26:00)

Rule change : Backgammon (joshi tm, 2007-01-04 11:53:47)

HMM. Though it is interesting to add, the tourney started AFTER the post about the proposed change.

Of course by then, I'm sure so many had already signed up.

The rules were changed after that tourney started.

Tuesday: I'm sure I've seen Fencer say many times that "No one forces anyone to pay"

(Wouldn't necessarily be MY response, but I'm not the site owner!)

As far as your question on the Tournaments board, apparently no one who read it, had an answer. I doubt that Fencer reads every single post on every single discussion board. If you wanted a direct answer from him, after not getting one there, perhaps writing to him would have worked.

I haven't set up a tourney in a very long time, but as I recall, there is some difference in what shows, over what is entered, as far as starting date/time. It has to do with the time difference. I remember it being an issue in the past when I set up tournies more frequently. It seems to me I had to adjust the time for Czech time. I don't remember exactly, personally. I may also be completely in the dark and misunderstood your question. It wasn't all that clear nor full of details/information.

Justaminute: It's pretty clear. There are rules on this site. People were breaking the rules. This was a way to minimize it. I'm not sure why it's so hard to understand, or why it should be so bothersome to a non-pawn.

Thad: I agree. I'm glad there has been some sort of rule put in place to keep the ranking list "active" but I think in some ways it's a little too strict. Maybe ONLY in the way that multi win/point action isn't counted until the end. It could use tweaking, but I'm glad it's not how it "used to be".

(Though, perhaps not, if it is a person who has invitations turned off, that I'm not sure of)

alilsassy: The chat room already does tell who is "present". It looks like it lists people who are either on the "static" page, or have the actual chat box enabled. It looks like it is split up in to 2 parts. From what I have seen, when someone has actively typed something in the chat box, their name goes to the top section of the list. After a certain period of time, it drops back down to the bottom part of the list.

Beren the 32nd:

Well, here is one way. (Maybe someone has a quicker/easier way )

There is a URL you can use to see the game history between any 2 people.

http://brainking.com/en/Profile?u=XXXX&op=XXXX&p=1 (change the X's to their user numbers)

You can find someone's user number by going to their profile. (ID #)

One way to find the top chess players, would be to choose "Ratings" in the left hand menu, and then click on "Chess"

Choose the people you are interested in, get their ID#'s and insert them in the URL above.

Of course, you may have to click on the different years to find some games. On that screen you will see a list of all game types they have played together. When you click on the game type. You will see the games they played this year. If they haven't, you will have to click on the other years. Unfortunately, the "Last 10 Finished Games" isn't working still.

LOL.. Maybe there's an easier way though.

A pop up would solve that though. Especially if you could make your bid right on that pop up!
