MadMonkey: Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad that it wasn't the late hour that was contributing to my lack of comprehension on this tournament. If Fencer checks this out, the question is why can't player 7 play 9? Answer: probably bug.

emmett: Now, i have never seen that before

Have to wait for Fencer on that one i reckon. A complete 20 player Tournament, that is not complete LOL, thats funny, less game you have to play anyway emmett lol

In this tournament why isn't player 7 able to play player 9?

Fencer, Pioneer54, volant and joshi tm: Could we have the choice of all 3.
Random could be default, then the way it is now and also the way Pioneer has it (1-5 3-7 2-6 4-8) which is fairer and the one i think would be me popular

joshi tm: I received many complaints when the first tournaments had been released with random seedings.
But it can be done as an option.

Pioneer54: Interesting. But the seedings are like in a Tennis tournament. Should be like Football, just at random.

Fencer: then why should lower ranked players even bother to play in these tournaments?

Fencer:

"the ideal form of the last rounds should be 1-4 3-2 or 1-8 5-4 3-6 7-2."

This is from the notes blog, and has been in practice from quite some time, but I have never thought it made any sense. You can have the top players meet in the final round (in theory), but why should the second-highest rated player get the bottom slot? Rather, it could be:

1-3 2-4 or 1-4 2-3 for 4 players, and
1-5 3-7 2-6 4-8,

which would still permit the top two seeds to meet in the "finale"

Jim Dandy: Plus I believe you can still edit the start date settings before the tournament starts. So if you see that it is about to be deleted, you can edit the tournament to another date to give more time for people to sign in.
