"Snoopy": The point is to get the top players to the final rounds. I will make a note about it in the blog later today.

Fencer:

"the ideal form of the last rounds should be 1-4 3-2 or 1-8 5-4 3-6 7-2."

This is from the notes blog, and has been in practice from quite some time, but I have never thought it made any sense. You can have the top players meet in the final round (in theory), but why should the second-highest rated player get the bottom slot? Rather, it could be:

1-3 2-4 or 1-4 2-3 for 4 players, and
1-5 3-7 2-6 4-8,

which would still permit the top two seeds to meet in the "finale"

Pioneer54: Interesting. But the seedings are like in a Tennis tournament. Should be like Football, just at random.

joshi tm: I received many complaints when the first tournaments had been released with random seedings.
But it can be done as an option.

Fencer, Pioneer54, volant and joshi tm: Could we have the choice of all 3.
Random could be default, then the way it is now and also the way Pioneer has it (1-5 3-7 2-6 4-8) which is fairer and the one i think would be me popular

Fencer: then why should lower ranked players even bother to play in these tournaments?
