Hrqls: Yes, if someone had answered 3 I would have mentioned HyperBG as well ;)

But now that I think about it there was montion of a couple of chess games that actually ended in 2 moves (fool's check). So, it means no BKR change for those?

19. January 2005, 11:38:31
Hrqls
lol .. there was at least 1 game with only 3 moves where 1 player did win .. 1 move sooner and it would not have counted for the bkr :)

the game in question was in a tournament... So I guess it applies to tournaments as well (at least here at BK).
Thank you both (should read the FAQ more often )

2 moves is confirmed: http://brainking.com/game/FAQ?ht=6
doesn't talk about tournament, though.

i think its 2 moves each for a normal game , for a tournament its 0 , but i will stand corrected

Subject: BKR
Is there a minimum number of moves for a game to count for BKR? One of my opponets timed out without even starting the game and no BKR change... at least in the message... (I'm not complaining: I don't think I should be awarded for a game that didn't even happen).

If there's a minimum how much is it?

BerniceC: The real point here is there shouldn't be hypocracy in the Music Board if people are allowed to post copyrighted poems on the Poetry board.

And Moderators shouldn't be self-appointed police officers when they are actually in opposition to the law on the books.

      What do you think ?

Subject: Re: A Question...
EIHN: yes it is, unless the person posting it has gotten permission from the author.

There is so much breach of copyright on the internet it is practically impossible to police :(

I agree about NOT posting copyrighted material on discussion boards.....but who would police it?

Subject: A Question...
Isn't posting poetry, that wasn't written by the person who posted it, a violation of copyright law ?

And shouldn't a rule about posting copyrighted material apply to ALL discussion boards ?

Got a query for you, I'm a numbers person, and would like to be able to see the average of my established games. I know you can see that for the top 50, but would it be possible to add something like that to profile page? I have set up a separate spreadsheet, and just change numbers myself, just to see how I am doing. Thanks, JO.

i am not sure if the pond games also showed in the autorefresh .. when i clicked on the main page link it showed a pond awaiting for my move, while it didnt before that .. it might be a coincidence that i clicked on the main page link while it wasnt there for 3 minutes yet (which is my refresh time) but i am not sure .. did a pond show up on autorefresh for anyone else ?

I jsut had someone time out of their games while on auto vacation.

With the new year everyone should have a new 30 days and with weekends etc, how did they time out so quickly?

You should get your rating number right away (+ or - points) but your ranking which depends on how other players of that game are finishing at that moment may be adjusted less often.

The ratings SHOULD refresh immediatelly after a finished game. If this didn't happen there must be a problem..........I'm sure it will be fixed if there is any.....
Or there isn't any problem and this is how the system works. It may need 3-4 hours or even 1 day to refresh. Fencer.....?
But you don't have to worry, the rating will be refreshed!

It stopped working for me around the time of BK2 but has been working the last couple weeks. If i remember correctly Fencer once said it is somewhat dependent on your ISP.
