Well similar to that Backoff - after the big "crash", so players just resigned many of their games - and now have under 1000 BKR. They are good players, and now if you lose against them, you will lose a lot of BKR points since they are rated so low (but still good players)
What bothered me is that I'm in a tournament that started in july. The person I was playing was rated higher than me then. Now I won the game today, but because my BKR is 1000 points above his, I gained nothing from it.
But the tournament creator does have all rights to remove any player they do not think (or want) from their tournament.
So for example sometimes I will have "dummy" tournaments for players rated below 1500. At the time the tournament starts, I remove anyone that has a lot higher rating then 1500. (if they have let say 1508 or something close I usually let them stay - but it is up to each tournament creator.)
Here's a Q... Just say a player has 1800 an joins your tourney which it will accept cuz your rating is over 1700. Then u start to lose horribly and go below 1700 just before the start of the tourney. Does the programming know to not allow you to play once it starts setting up the games? If someone has already asked this Im sorry I musta missed it!
Ok everyone, you have 24 hours to sign up for my New Years Chess blowout!!! HERE. The winner gets a 6 month rook membership. Some of the top players on the site are in this and it should be very fun. Good Luck.
If you're interested in Gothic C, Extinction C, Crazy Screen C, Anti C, or other CVs, sign up for the Winter 2004 Chess Variants Congress. Closing date is January 10.
Sign-ups have closed for A Few of My Favourite Things. I'll probably start the tournament later today or tomorrow.
Meanwhile, sign-ups have begun for the Brotherly Love duo. This is two separate tournaments, one for beginners (BKR under 2000 or unrated), and one for advanced players (BKR 2000 and up, no unrated players), and include all games.
Sorry Lythande ... the "n" jumped off the keyboard at the wrong time ... that should have been "no good", but I will be thinking of you all. (I think sLaMMie'S new fellowship has effected my keyboard sUmTiNk chronic ... LOL)
I the first game of his I looked at (with you Blue) he has until jan 27 to make his next move. Weekend days don't count so it's 21 days per move, only counting 5 days a week. That is the only down side of being a pawn, only one tournament at a time. If you ever decide to upgrade, that is no longer a problem. I have about 400 games going right now in at least 75 different tournaments.
BlueM: The problem is that the time per move in that tournament is 21 (plus any vacation days people may have). It is also Xmas & New Year. I think it could be a long wait for you.
I suggest next time you pick a competition with a shorter move time.
Interesting how each section has one player that hasn't completed any games .... while the majority of the tourney has been completed .... is this the same person? or some kind of computerized player ??? what gives ?? awful suspicious to say the least !!
