Is there a reason that someone has -3 hours on a game they are playing with me? Has game time been suspended or something?

Fencer: I do understand your concerns, but does your proposal include tournaments as well? For example you recently started a team tournament for cubed backgammon with 9 point matches and a long time limit. Something like this could last well past someones membership expiration. Hopefully you can find a way to keep people from abusing the system wiothout hurting those who are just caught up in circumstances beyond their control.

LOL.... I just went to sign up for a backgammon tournament advertised on the main page, and it is due to begin in October 2006! Whats up with that?

Sounds right.... but there is also an new one for total game time, so I am guesing that if you want to play a game in one day for example you can now do it, or in one week or something. The advantage being if you want to p[lay a fast game but dont want to ghet trapped by a one day move game, just in case something would happen..

Someone said it happens when you are white (not skin color) and you recieve the invite that way?

6. Heinäkuu 2005, 13:46:24
Czuch
Otsikko: Is this a bug?
When I recieve an invite to backgammon, it gives me the option to write a message, but then when I do accept and write a "thank you" I get the gane back to my turn saying that I have lost the initial dice roll and then I submit this one, but my opponent will not see my originol thank you and good luck, nor is it archived. Does this make sense?

I know it was recently talked about somewhere...
Blocked users
The player from this list cannot
invite you to a game,
see you on Who is online page,
send you a message,
add you to their Friends list.
But, I do have people on my friends list who have me on their enemies list as well. Maybe if you put them on your friends list before they put you on their enemies list it still works? Or this is jus not accurate information?

Otsikko: Re: vacation
Hrqls: That is good info.. I was under the impression that auto vacation and regular vacation were the same, and I think many others do as well (including many who give faulty advice to someone who is setting vacation days) It is good to know that it is more efficient use of vacation days to set them when you know they will be needed, and leave auto vacation for emergencies only!

Plus if you are a board moderator and I go to your board it sows with a green dot if you are currently online, so at least for a moderator it wont work for them to put you on enemies cause you cvan still find out if they are here or not.

Otsikko: Re:
BIG BAD WOLF: I think the problem is that some people join certain fellowships only to keep track of what is being said about them or to keep an eye on what people are saying (they dont want to miss any dirt, for example) These are likely the people who do not want to recieve the emails, as they have no intention of active participation in said fellowship, and never read the board until they hear about someone argueing or someone talking about them or a friend of theirs. These people are not wanted in my fellowships, but there is no easy way to tell for sure who is doing this.

Otsikko: Re:
ClayNashvilleTn: I agree.... It is not spam if it is something you asked to recieve. By being in a fellowship you automatically accept the fact that you may recieve a message from the big boss. If you dont like it just leave the fellowship. I seem to get more people to sign up for tournaments etc when send out invites to all members over the amout who will sign up when it is posted on the board alone.

But thinking it over now, I guess an option to just not recieve them wouldnt hurt anyone either.
If you are in my fellowship and you do not recieve my emails and you do not respond when things are posted on the board, I can just delete you from my fellowship....

rod03801: Thats correct, but Fencer has been known to change his mind before, and he is known for listening to his membership for advise. There does need to be some sort of public forum to discuss moderating issues and other ways to make this site better...

I also believe that when the user agreement says that moderating issues should be handled in private, it is talking about "specific" issues with a "specific" moderating desicion. It is not intended that general issues about moderating not be discussed at all on any public boards.

Purple: I have to agree with your comments 100%!!!!

BBW.... your comment "I mean what is another user who reads this going to do to help the situation? Nothing." doesnt make sense to me.

You think taking things private is not a form of censorship.... But other people seeing and undersatnding your comments may just "help" your cause! Its democracy in action.... If enough people read and see that myu comments make sense they may jump on the band wagon and help make proper changes, if enough people read it and disagree then I will have to adjust my point of view on the subject. It only makes sense to allow public discussions of how to run a 'PUBLIC' board! Any issue taken for discussion and resolution in a private "blue shield" society is going to be interprited with skepticism, keep it public and open, you guys are giving yourselves a needless bad rap!
