Hi Radiant,
the reason is that your opponent's BKR is very low, compared to yours. Please read the FAQ page.

Otsikko: Rating question concerning Game ID: 123222
Hi Fencer :-)

Unfortunately my opponent ran out of time in Game ID: 123222.. so I won the game.. but my rating stayed the same, as it was before.. Is this normal when your opponent run out of time? Did I miss some change in the rules? I must admit that i don´t have much time left to read the boards thoroughly ;o)

but in case my rating should increase, could you please upgrade my rating; before I won my rating was 1887 - as you can see, its still the same....

Thanks and have a blessed weekend,
~*Radiant*~

I've deleted too many messages this morning to message everyone individually. I realise some weren't offensive, but any and all posts concerning tonyhawk have been removed and I would appreciate it very much, if he posts again, that nobody reply. He has been warned and the next post he makes about unbeatable king will lead to him being banned also. Thanks :o)

Nope, it's based on when your opponent's last move was - so the game that has been your turn for the longest will show up next.

The order is in the order that the other person played the game. So the "oldest" game in the list will be first to be played.

It is on the list to be able to sort the "next game" in other ways, but nothing will probable happen until there is a new server here.

Otsikko: Question
What order do the games default to when you choose 'next game' from the drop-down? It would be nice if it when by the chosen order of your main page list. :)

If you could drop a note to my personal message box, I would appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Lyth

I've already told this guy what to do [yesterday]. His response is still the same, about leaving BrainKing. Well, there is not much else to say to a person who sends complaints to all sides 16 hours after registering his BK account.

Well, i was online when tonyhawk's first post was made (the one about unbeatableking bothering him) and what happened was it was first posted with a different user name (i don't remember what). Then, i went on to another db, and saw another new post on this board. The first one was gone, and the exact same post was made with the userid unbeatableking (yes, himself complaining about himself bothering him! lol). Then again, another new post and it was again the exact same post, this time by tonyhawk2004 (the one currently there).

Otsikko: Re: Rules of Backgammon
With freedom comes responsibility, it is a fact no matter how many would try to dispute it. One has total freedom to step off the cliff, yet it is not always the most responsible thing to do, especially if there is a stair down. Truthfully, being rather new to backgammon, I was not aware of some of the rules, and the bugs that can be caused by software logic problems. If I have violated this rule (or any for that matter), please forgive my ignorance and point it out to me, I will happily reform my manner of play.

7. Syyskuu 2003, 22:53:58

tonyhawk I can't suspend anyone from using the site. If he's bothering you put him on your 'enemies' list and he will not be able to message you or send you an invite to a game, or even see that you are online.

Otsikko: yes - hopefully the bg board
the brainking rules of backgammon are readable. and even if the
bk-logic would allow violating them, I'd surely not consider doing so.

but the questionable exception-rule is not written down, instead
only hoovering in somebody's assumption which seems odd here
where I live ... (to correct other assumptions met) - details about
(as repeatedly pointed) cAn be viewed at the backgammon board ... ~*~

Otsikko: Re: Rules of Backgammon
I agree completely, Pyloric Valve. As I'm sure MOST backgammon lovers do too.

I DO see Danoschek's point, that technically HERE, it is not cheating.
But it is NOT the universally accepted version of backgammon. PERIOD.
I'm sure that since a majority of backgammon players here would prefer the universally accepted rules to be implement here, I'm sure Fencer will at some point do this. He is a busy man!
I have often wondered if he would consider putting the game back a move if both parties agreed that would be the fair thing to do. (Maybe they weren't aware of the rule, and if you mention it to them, they agree to it).. Just a thought.

6. Syyskuu 2003, 20:23:37
danoschek
Otsikko: will this never stop ?
here we have different rules, some even insist you cAn not put
more than 5 stones onto a single tacken and call that professional ...

it's a manner of agreement period.

for me people not respecting my free choice which die to use as first are
basically alogic - but I don't oppress and call them clueless or (ugh) amoralic ...

as for monopoly, to have adjustable rules should be possible, big deal ! ~*~

Otsikko: Re: Rules of Backgammon
This discussion has veered into a very deep philosophical discussion on the nature of cheating the importance of rules. Let me be clear. Whether or not there is a glitch in the software, it is cheating by any definition to take advantage of a mistake. Period. There are no ways aroudn it unless you cheat and you require justification. There is now way in which you can call a game backgammon and not play both die every turn. That is the fundamental nature of backgammon. I defy anyone to find such a rule for backgammon anywhere that it is played seriously. As such, whether it is possible to lpay without using both die IS COMPLETELY BESIDE THE POINT. It's possible to shoot each other, that doesn't mean that isn't illegal. Possibility is never a justification for doing the wrong thing. I challenge every player on the site to never use a bug to their advantage. It not only tarnishes your reputation but it makes you an awful player because you have not learned to play backgammon and as such makes you worse than someone trying hard to do the right thing even though they may be tempted to cheat.
