It is an old arguement of fast players compared to slow players. There are 2 sides to the arguement and in the end there is no resolution. Like I have always said in these situations is only take games and tournaments in which the time limits are something that you can live with. IF you think the time limit is too long then dont play the game or tournament. I personally play games that have 3 day or shorter limit for the most part. However Mrloupcity does bring up the newest way to prolong games by those who wish to abuse the limit by having auto vacations kick in to prevent time outs. I would suggest that auto vacations be non-existent in tournaments. IF you do decide to play a game or tournament which has a long time frame to play a move then you really have no complaint when the opponent uses the whole time frame to make their move.
That's the logical fallacy, in your first sentece - assuming that because he doesn't move quickly you assume him to be a person not to be trusted. Why is this? There is no need to get into it as it has been discussed at length elsewhere, but if he doesn't time out, he's not doing anything wrong. Simply because you prefer to move more quickly does not make him wrong for moving more slowly.
NO, it has to do with trust. We trust the most people on here will be a good sport and make move in good time. But when u have a tourney going on a board. That only has 4 people playing in it u would think that it might not take long to play. But now I see that they don't have to make there next move tell Jan 5th. And then more then not will take and keep using auto vac. Just to hold up the game. What big fight would start if I started waiting tell last hours to play in all the tourneys I'm in. And yes I think u know what I mean. SORRY BK board that I have went off topic where. But just wanted to make the point, and it still now days it all comes back to trusting some1 I don't know.

So mrloupcity - are you suggesting that simply because he moves slow in his games on Brainking that he will write a program in order to infect other users' computers with viruses? That has got to be THE WORST logic I have EVER heard.
By the way, I had the same problem as THE HIT MAN - it downloads part way, and then during install says some of the files have been corrupted. The only explaination I have would be a server problem (it does display the correct total size, but simply refuses to complete the download).
VIKINGX I had this very same problem last august here in australia...attempted it about 3 times from different cell phones/mobile etc...never ever got a confirmation code....
I ended up having to send money to another members bank account so they could pay it thru PayPal...Moneybookers in australia is very expensive to use and isnt a good option for us.
Who is your local customer service rep of BrainKing? ask them what to do :)
Maybe most of you know about this, but I just found it...
I have my menu bar (Main Page, New Game, Waiting Games, etc.) on the left. Next to the "Main Page" link is the number of games where it is my turn. Now the cool part, If I move my mouse to the top-left corner of the browser window, I get a pop-up list of the games. Cool, huh?
One question:
Do you find it legal and moral to help/support a member of the same team in a tournament, at his games in THIS tournament? What i mean is that i would like the cooperation between members of the same team not to be only that they "share" the wins-draws-loses of the other members, but to be on a higher level of total cooperation by advising and suggesting some ideas or even moves.
Would this be an "illegal thing" or it is acceptable......?
I`ve been trying renew my membership via Moneybookers on 2 different days now (to renew my membership). However, the verification code which they are supposed to send to my mobile phone has never arrived. And therefore I have not been able to activate my account.
What could be the problem? Any ideas? I have already checked that there are no mistakes in the personal info that I gave them.
I have all sources of the BrainKing Notify application so I can confirm it is safe. But, of course, it is not mandatory to download it and in its current status, it is mostly for people who want to help with testing.
how do I know if it's really safe to download from that site. If I can't get the person that made it for BK to make a move in a game. I really don't think at this time I can trust their site to download from. Sorry but that is just the way I feel right now.

Scarlet....in about 14 hours and 15 hours (I think) LJ will be gone off your games list :)
The only problem is that these 96 odd games he had going seem to be not affecting his BKR...His old BKR pre "last break down" was 2307....a few games have already timed out and 2299 was his last BKR...so he isnt being penalised game wise :(
OK drop subject...not my business....was just curious to see how things go during "timeout"
I ask Fencer about in PM and found out y the games r restarting. It is cause LJ had auto vac set. But Fencer told me that he turned off LJ's auto so that way this time when the time runs out it should not reset. Hope now this will help as to y this was going on.

Kevin: two reasons.. suppose the banned member is allowed to come back.. after about a month of it shuffling between time out and reinstated.. and then he sits there time after time.. playing one move every so often.. Do you think it was fair to hold up the tourney for him??
And secondly: I don't want to even see his name on my list..
I would say there are enough pawns (ex-paying Rooks members who don't seem to want to renew memberships) taking advantage of playing in team tournaments as it is.
I feel sorry for the Knights that are still paying yet can only enter one tournament at a time still.
I'm sure Fencer will allow pawns to form a team tournament. I would guess about 10-15 EUR from each pawn to cover the cost to allow them on the "pawn team" for the backgammon team tournament would cover it - but Fencer would have to give you the exact amount. :-)
