Could we get a number to indicate how many notes are in our notepad please.

I've been involved in game design and a lot of ideas that sound good dont actually make interesting or even playable games. It's best to play test the ideas and make adjustments as necessary.

Have another beer.

On the other hand the one about characters per post was just teasing Stevie.

I was serious about a rogue's gallery page. BrainKing is a social site and I think it's history is worth recording.

For convenience could we find listed on our profiles the names of members who have us designated as enemies or where a member might have us on hide. This doesn't have to be public but would save wasted responses.

On the stats page, how about average number of characters per post?

Have you play tested that idea?

If you're going to provide shogi, as the average length of a game is 60 moves each it might be nice to have an option for 1/2 days for a move.

In jungle it would be nice to have the captured pieces beside the board as with other games.

At some point I'd like to see mweso played at BrainKing, another game in which the players choose their initial set-up.

How about ludo?

Casino, royal casino and their popular variants. I'll look for a site giving the rules.

I think the casino family of card games would be suitable and at 24 "moves" each would take less time than most chess games.

I didn't realise ludo is ever played by two people. Have you any plans for two player card games? Royal cassino is fun.

To save all the bickering about ratings, it might be an idea if they were converted to catagories, for example A-E, they would still be useful for finding suitable opponents yet there would be no fine detail to worry anybody.

Will ludo be for three or four players?

I would imagine in the river was the same as on land, I'm trusting you to interpret the "chinese" spirit of the game for incomplete rules, main problem for me is can the mouse in the lake kill a mouse on land?

How about occassional random re-ordering of the boards? Must admit I'm too lazy to scroll down.

Can we have a level control on our requests? For example, this is a "level 6 request (prefered priority just above 'who cares'"?

Can we have a sleeping board upon which to compare (k)nightmares?

It might be fun to have average rating by nationality for each game, for example; why are the Portugese so good at tablut?

ughaibu
Emne: Cariad
At your site the rat can eat another rat when leaving the lake but cannot do so with an elephant.
Redsales: I'm sure you can buy a set locally and ask some Chinese for a ruling(?)

How about a lobotomy for LongJohn?

18. September 2004, 12:22:46
ughaibu
I just did a quick search (Shou Dou Qi), one source claimed that the elephant can also kill the mouse ie they're of equal value in respect to each other, I'm sure this is wrong and that the mouse always wins, another question is whether or not a mouse can eat another mouse from the lake, I think not but I dont remember the situation being covered in the rules in my set, all online sources I looked at say the lions and tigers can make both long and short leaps.

18. September 2004, 11:58:19
ughaibu
One other rule is that lions and tigers cannot jump over a swimming mouse.

18. September 2004, 11:51:01
ughaibu
I'll ask Redsales if he can look into it, unfortunately I haven't got my set with me.

Emne: Fencer
I think the lions and tigers can only make the short jump across the lake but they can directly eat another animal with the leap.

18. September 2004, 09:44:08
ughaibu
I'm beginning to think about requesting loop jungle.

18. September 2004, 09:38:03
ughaibu
Also animals of equal value can eat each other, mouse cannot attack from the lake, no animal can occupy it's own den and any animal in a trap can be eaten by any other animal. Maybe that's all, Redsales could check the Chinese rules if there's any doubt.

Emne: Fencer
Are your rules for jungle available?

Extra! Extra! Stevie agrees with Fencer.

14. September 2004, 20:28:31
ughaibu
It would be fun if Fencer put everyone on his enemies list and banned himself from all the boards.

12. September 2004, 18:08:59

In this the internet age our main form of physical exercise is that of clicking with the mouse finger, without regular and profuse clicks one'll keel over smitten by a cardial infarction. Treasure those extra clicks man, they're what's keeping you going.

12. September 2004, 17:39:16
ughaibu
WHAT? Baby, baby, baby, if you your sweet self are engaged elsewhere, for example in the futile clicking on full tournaments, you will not see that the oppo's still made no moves, it don't speed up the games themselves but it reduces the chances of noticing that one's partner hasn't moved, or to re-express it "is playing slowly", savvy?

12. September 2004, 16:13:10
ughaibu
If one is busy futily clicking full tournaments one doesn't notice one's empty "your turn to move" box, see?

12. September 2004, 10:17:06
ughaibu
If Fencer adds a "tournament full" indicator there'll be more complaints about players moving slowly, just enjoy those extra clicks and you'll be fine.

I request that IMupChuCking's posts be short enough that one can be bothered reading them.

Certainly convenient for review, another arguement for a direct link.

My god, how thoroughly impolite of me. MidnightMcMedic: please accept my apologies, I didn't mean to suggest that your rating is lower than that of any of your opponents.

30. August 2004, 20:52:56
ughaibu
Your opponents won't take a draw because of their rating, so they're among the readers of those messages.

Sure but not when submiting a move(?)

30. August 2004, 20:10:16
ughaibu
Emne: A less controversial request (if such a beast roams the woods).
When submiting a move and going to the message box can we be directly sent to the most recent message please? We probably chose to go there to delete a result notification and in any case it doesn't increase the number of clicks.
