If you don't live in the same city, what about bank transfers? It would be cheaper within Iran, wouldn't it?

no! not yet. I want to pay, you want to, but how about the others? And, even if they DO want to pay, they must first send the money to one of us or we must send it to one of them! This needs a little bit of time!

Now you hav e apoint Fencer. I hadn't thought of that before. yes, perhaps if I could find more people and tried to send you the whole money at once, I could do it. yes, Yes. That's wise.

But still, I cannot walk in the streets and say:

"does anyone want a Brainking membership?"

Bad Bishop, I live in teh same place as Mehdi does!

I've tried once to send Cd's in that way. They did reach the other person but all of them were skratched if you know what I mean. Since It's against teh law to send things hidden in other things, if they take the money I can do nothing about it.

And please beware that $20 is a small amount of money where you live!

Not in here. It is 17400 tomans approximately and not that small to be lost!

18. December 2004, 17:52:48

if it was possible as it is not realy banned by our post laws i wouldn't have hesitated

18. December 2004, 17:51:41

reza: How big is the tax you are talking about? Perhaps we can find a solution - for example, if more people from your country decide to buy a membership here and the total amount will be sent as one money transfer to my bank, one of these people can get the membership for free, in order to cover these extra expenses.
I could be more concrete if I know what the real fees would be.

18. December 2004, 17:47:37
Crook
Czuch: Yep, from the informations which we have it doesn't sound strange, the post could be controlled. But we don't know, maybe it isn't, Mehdi knows it certainly better than we. -- I lived long enough in a totalitarian country where the post were controlled. This is why I suggest to send the money hidden in something small and priceless, some book (about Iran) or whatever.

Fencer, i don't really read these boards. I just take a look at HOME's discussion boards from time to time. But now that I looked at the link you have posted, I want to mention a fact.

One of my colleagues, in The English institute where I work, also works in that "bank saderat" and I've already asked him about the money transfer. He himself suggested that for small amounts of money, the bank of Melli which is another bank in Iran is better. I've asked there too. Still the tax they ask for is not fair. Though they say they're working on some rules to make the taxes lessend. Until then, I personally don't find it wise to register to Brainking. I've been lucky those kind people have paid for me but I hereby declare that I want no other person get into trouble of paying for my membership. I thank the two once again an ddo hope I can return their favours as soon as I can.

I was going to offer that advice too Bad Bishop..... but I have been told that In Iran the government routinly inspects letters and packages, mostly for sexual explicit purposes, but that any cash found would likeley be confiscated :(

Mehdi, I don't know anything about the Iranian banks and/or if it's simple or not to send money to the foreign coutry. I suppose it's possible but quite complicated and expensive (it is hell expensive from an Austrian bank). I'd personally recomend to send cash in a letter (or hidden in a small book or something like that), I'm sending regullary cash to the States (not every American eBayer is accepting PayPal :-)) and it works and I got cash from buyers from the whole world. Where is the problem? You probably don't want to send the money for a Brain Maharadja, want you? Even if the envelope with your 10 or 20 dollars would be lost (and I'd say the chances are good it won't) and you would have to send it again, it's probably cheaper and much more simple than to run to the bank, to buy some money orders and so on...

Is that really correct backoff? ou are losing one vacation day per timed out game? That isnt right is it?

18. December 2004, 17:22:09
Czuch
Thats right Mehdi.... its on Rezas profile that he had to have someone else pay his membership for him because Iran does not have a way to do it I guess. Sorry no one will step up to the plate for your membership, so far... Maybe its time for Iran to get into step with the rest of the modern world, or maybe you could start a game playing website for Iranians :)

They will show the red about to "time out numbers" but wont really time out.. I see em all the time on games waiting for opponents to play, counts down to 1min then it goes to 24 hours again

Backoff
I have a question. I have a vacation day set for today, and vacation days, weekend days, and the holiday days set for the rest of the year. My questions is why do I have games about to time out? Some today, some tomorrow, the next day, and so on.

That bank also says it offers "Buying and selling Travelers Cheques in local as well as foreign currencies." Seems like that should work also if you only wanted to mail money and not pay for transfer.
