good question...i guess i'm as competitive as the next guy and always hopeful that this wil be the last time it will burn up....but it never is it seems and the ratings get more and more inaccurate...tough to win a game twice we should get double points...lol...just kiddin'..i say dump the points..!!

Mamba: If the ratings don't mean anything to you, or you don't like them, why not just play the games for fun and ignore the ratings?

Emne: Troubles at the site?
Had to work today.. didn't noticed anything strange at my games when i came home just an hour ago... I am sorry to read about the troubles though.... Thanks Fencer and Liquid for making this a great site: keep up the good work!!! :-)

There are backups. How do you think we only lost a handful of hours

22. November 2004, 20:23:29
Joseph S
i'm still a pawn by choice...twice i've had the chance to be raised to a castle or a horse and i turned them down.....and don't blame this crap on me...let's look at who's problem it is and why with all the money you all say your giving him isn;'t there some sort of backup or night watchman to see that this doesn't happen..??

Mamba - It has been talked about to hide the ratings from pawns, but I'm surprised to hear a pawn actually agree with that!

Thats one unpaid member vote against how many? LOL

22. November 2004, 20:20:25

i'd rather there were no ratings..!!!...get rid of them

Someone's a pawn for more than a year and complaining about service?? What a nut.

22. November 2004, 20:18:57

I thought it was 3 months last time ;o). So as a pawn...how many moves did you have to replay this afternoon? 20 at the most I guess. I bet you are really hard done by eh

What do you do with your rating?

22. November 2004, 20:16:50
Joseph S
the only thing i'm complaining about is that there is a ratings system here..!!...it's not very accurate if you ask me....last october when it crashed and we all lost an entire MONTHS worth of games we were told it would all be ok...send him our ratings as we remembered them and they'd be reinstated....well last month all the games i had resigned because i was ASS-ured it would be ok and my ratings would not reflect them as losses all got turned around and they ARE losses now...so am i to believe him again telling me the same thing...you rally round a liar i'm not..!!

22. November 2004, 19:53:49
Stevie
once again BBW...you are so right ;o) xoxoxoxox LOL

I lost a few moves...so what, must be worth maybe a cent??? i wont complain about that :o) Backups every day now, you cant do it much more frequent than that can you

coan.net
Exactly, and I know mine and others comments about "pawns" are only to the very minor part of the pawn population here.

Most pawns bring game playing to this site, and possible some day bring money in the form of a membership to this site.

It is only a small handful which cause problems, unforntatly - those are the loudest ones sometimes.

It's very funny to hear pawns, who did NOTHING and yet have benefit of being accepted on this server, complaining about something, what is very often happening with all servers on the internet, but this server this thing affected once I remember and with the insufficient hardware it's a sort of a miracle. I personally would pay MORE if I was able to, to prevent this stuff, but what do you do, PAWNS? I'm disgusted...

its a shame some kids have very few manners...they tend to ruin it for others.

22. November 2004, 18:27:50
coan.net
The only people I see complaining are pawns. Most everyone else knows that by being paid members, we are helping towards the goal of a new server which will make this site beter in the long run. Heck, this is the first (more then a few minutes) down time I have seen for a long time of this site, and with the old equipment that this site currently runs - that is pretty good!

Keep up the work Fencer, this is a great gamesite.

This hasn't happened for more than a year. The site is ridiculously cheap, do you always ask for your money back when similarly infrequent hiccoughs occur with things for which you've laid out equivalent cash? Your griping is pathetic.

Emne: not sure what a "mitt" is...
but I dont see an awful lot of "paid" members complaining.Perhaps you could show your support in making this site better,by joining the "paid" members? ;-)

You're wrong, Swampthing. Paying members don't demand a refund when something goes wrong, we rally round and try to get more funds flowing in so Fencer and co. can get the new server that this site needs.

read your server news on your main page..if more people were paying members...this sort of thing would surely be less frequent. ;-)

Emne: I know it is frustrating Mamba
but do remember this.. Servers are not Gods.. and unfortunately they break down occassionally..

Fencer has done excellent with this site and we rarely do see site crashes.. So just know this is not a normal occurance..

Have a wonderful Monday!

<If you want to know your own vacation days you can go to Settings -> Calendar and it says how many days you have left.
If you mean other player's days... well, then you can't know... (I really think there should be a way too)

When a game times out, that day is set as a vacation day. If another game times out 5 mins later, it will notice that day is already set as a vacation day and automatically extend itself, without spending another day.

Emne: automatic vacation days
can you see how many vacation days someone has left ?

when a game times out and the player has auto vacation days set .. does it add an extra day to the time for all other games that person is playing as well or does it cost 1 vacation day per timed out game ?
