Hi Fencer,
Is the hidden action points still valid. I spend 2 hours, only clicking on all the ads on the site. But no 500 points anymore.
In those 2 hours, I could play a lot of games...

Emne: Re: A question about the ads...
Fencer: Is that new, or did they always disaprear for the rest of the day. That might make some of the players who hate ads but would like to play the "action points" thing - that is as long as they take out about 10 seconds to at least take a look at an ad once, they would be able to play the rest of the day without looking at them anymore PLUS still gain action points. (Again, for the ones who would like to play.)

Emne: Secret Action Points
its been quite some discussion about the action points.

its at a stall now, some people complain they cant compete because they dont know how to get the secret action points. well then they should not deserve to be in the top of this months contest either as this months contest is about the secret action. if you cant find it (like i cant ;)) then you cant be on the top of the list (at least not without a LOT of effort :))

players can have their own reasons to play or not to play with someone else .. some people might base it on action points, some people on number of running games, some on bkr, some on the person behind the keyboard, some will play with anyone, some based on the time they have in real life and, some on other reasons .. its their personal right to chose whoever they will play with (i will play with anyone, but not right now as i wont have much time as i will be on holiday, but after that i will again)

so:

the action points contest of this moth is about the secret action : find it or fail
the action points of this month requires ads to be on, so turn them on or dont participate this month

its a players own choice who (s)he will play with

please take the next comments on this months action points contest to the chat board unless you have something really new about the subject to add

any following posts about this subject will be deleted (sorry)

Point in fact- Fencer set precedence when he took points away from a few people last month when they figured out how to beat the system- If memory serves- they were not 'capped' but eliminated...[lol- redundant in usa;]

If certain people want to be elitist about who they're going to play against, then let them. It already seems like some people have made their minds up about this, and nothing anyone says will change it.

I am going to turn off my action points, as they really do nothing to enhance my game playing, and I don't try and get as many as I can in one day.

amandalove: I turned off my points yesterday because I don't care no more but I must speak my mind.
I'm sick of hearing about now we know who to play with or not.
I thought the points were great at first, Aug.3 I stayed up till 4:00 in the morning and made 1,350 moves, I was tired at work the next day but I did not care because I was in 4'th place.
After that day people started flying by me in points then I knew somthing was wrong.
I know none of the players who got the secret points did anyting wrong but when players have thousands of secret points and now there is a cap of 500 per day they will still get them every day.
How are you going to catch them? I'll tell you, There is no way you can.
Now whoever thinks this is fair you got to be a fool, and to pick players not to play against because of all this is just being stupid.
I had to speak my mind and if you don't like it put me on your block player list.

I'm here 12 out of 24 hours, i do not get this talk about who and who you can tell is here to play. i make all my moves plus alot that come back 10 plus times in a day. i do not want ad's i want game play. That is an unfair statment to make in terms of who to play or not because of the points they are collecting and how fast they are going up the ladder of getting the points,

Rainbow days and anybody else including myself who have got more than the 500 secret action points for the day have done nothing wrong, none of us have tapped into the system, we have all worked out how to get them ourselves

Fencer has capped it, he did it yesterday when he realised himself, that it was getting out of hand, and i agree with what he did.

I really cant see what all the fuss is about.

Point in fact- Fencer set precedence when he took points away from a few people last month when they figured out how to beat the system- If memory serves- they were not 'capped' but eliminated...[lol- redundant in usa;]

Walter Montego; I too would like a speed rating and could care less about action points- although I have no 'brains' it takes a modicum of intelligence and time to play Dark Chess successfully... while Ludo... [well, they would have a faster 'speed rating'] ROFLMAO!

Emne: Re: Fast Players Club
CRY ME A RIVER: You lost me here saying this Action Points thing shows me who to play or avoid. I could care less how many of these points I or you may or may not get each day. Does that make me a person to avoid playing? I am one of the faster players of his games, though I don't play in hundreds of games. I think you're confusing quantity of moves with quality of moves. And certain games, if you're trying to win the game as compared to move fast, require more time and energy to make good moves. Dark Chess or Embassy Chess as compared to say Ludo, come to mind.

This is one of the reasons a few of us have requested a speed rating index for total moves in all games and for each individual game. Some type of rating so that I might find someone to play that plays at a similar speed per game. There's plenty of ways to gauge movement. If I clear, and by clear I mean move at least once in every game that I have curently going in a day, say 50 games of which it was my move in 27 of them during that day, this is some ways is equal to someone that clears every game in a day that has 1000 games going and it's their turn in 540. I try to move once a day in every game though I can't if my opponent doesn't move, and sometimes I might not move for a few days. So an average of this speed would give an indication of my average time to clear all my started games. Another type of rating could be based on the actual amount of moves made each day. IN this example I might make 100 moves and the person with 1000 games might make 1500. With these two rating facts in hand, you could easily find players who's use of BrainKing matches your own. There's other ways to rate a player's speed too. Per week, per amount of time used by the time limit of the game, elapsed time while waiting for opponent to move, and etc., etc. All could give you numbers that could help you find compatible opponents.

I also just don't worry about it much. If my opponent moves within the time frame and is playing to win with his moves alone and not using the clock, then that's fine by me. Winning on time is part of some people's strategy for winning. I avoid this type of player when I encounter them, but they are playing by the rules. Those players that have so many games and are forced into playing in this manner are also players I tend to avoid, even if the motive for playing that way is not using the clock. To me, there's more to playing a game than just the playing of the game itself.
