MadMonkey: The team match page does not show which games are or are not finished. The 0 below game 1909255 "belongs" to your opponent, not to the game; the 1 below game 1909256 "belongs" to you.

Fencer: Could you have a look at the Korg Triton (Gaming Palace vs. Blizzards) Match. I am winning 1-0 at the momment, but have a look at games 1909255(i won, shows still playing) and 1909256(is still playing, says i won). The score is right, so its not a major issue, it just tells me i have finished the game i am still playing and vicer versa.....most odd. So i had a look through the Korg Triton tournament, and it seems to be totaly Random as to which one is says is which LOL. I know it does not SEEM(more of a worry) to effect the result, just seems odd when you finish a game, to go and look there to find out according to the system you are still playing it, but have in fact finished the one you are still playing LOL The GOOD news is that it seems to be doing it in all TEAM tournaments, so that may help you track down whats causing it.
imsoaddicted: I thought that the other day when using hexkids priority games system. I forgot to take it out the list before the game finished. The i couldnt find the game in my games finished. Odd really as it is the game that is finished so it should be there really.
imsoaddicted: be careful though, when you resign a game in a backgammon type with doubling cube, then you will give your opponent as many points as he would have gotten when he would have played all his stones out at your position
so when you still have a stone on the bar, and you resign, then you will give your opponent a backgammon. while if you played it out it might have been a single point
if your playing a muti game match and you resign a game does the game you resign go on your game total or does it only count when the full match is finished?
BKR means "BrainKing Rating" and is calculated by US Chess Federation formula for each kind of a game separately according to your game results. The player who finishes at least 4 rated games of one kind (everybody who defines a new game can specify whether the game will be "rated" - the result will be calculated for BKR - or not), earns "provisional BKR" displayed by italic font (e.g. 1870). After finishing 25 rated games of one kind the provisional BKR changes to "established BKR" and is displayed by normal font (e.g. 1853). If you complete more games, your BKR is more accurate because is based on more results.
I thought at some point Fencer mentioned that at some point, empty stairs would be removed. However, I am currently in a stair where I am on level 17 and the next highest player is on level 12 and I think it has been like this for a while.
Jason: strange because this person has re entered twice now but a couple of weeks ago i was removed from a tournament and i tryed to resign and it stated tournament organiser has removed you and i couldnt re enter
imsoaddicted: well if things are still as they used to be then yes they can (i only know this because i removed someone sometime ago and they re entered at the very last moment) .
Emne: Re: ULTIMA is a very good 40 year old chess variant
Ray Garrison: Hi Ray, I'm an Ultima fan myself, but you might want to put this post in the Feature Request discussion board or in the 8 × 8 Chess variants board or other Chess variants board.
Emne: ULTIMA is a very good 40 year old chess variant
Ultima is a very good chess variant that was invented by Abbott in the early 1960s. It is has been one of my favourite variants of the past two decades. I would love to see the game at this site, possibly with a tweak or two in the rules. I have some very good suggestions as to minor rule changes, having played hundreds of games of this variety. Is anyone else interested in seeing ULTIMA at brainking.com?

I like to play faster paced games, but 1 hour games on a turn based site is not what I like. Until Fencer actually adds live play, I'm not going to play such quick games. A move or two a day with time off when needed works fine for me. The original days per with vacations allowed can be abused readily. Yeah I know, it's within the rules so it ain't abuse. What's within the rules isn't always what's meant when one plays a game though.
After the Fischer clock timing of games was added to the site, I decided to experiment with them. It's taken me awhile to get a feel for how it goes. It's just a matter of figuring out how many moves per day or week you like, starting with some amount of time, and then setting a maximum for when you might be away or a little longer. I think it works very well. It is something that takes getting used to and seeing how it works for yourself. I'm talking about periods of a day to a week with maximums from one week to three weeks. The amount of time the bonus is set for becomes the average time per move after subtracting the starting time of the clock.
"Have Fun": Actually, no, there is no way to enforce a "1 hour and 9 minute" game either, with the current time constraints available. 2 hour total time is the lowest possible to enforce.
I never said I didn't like them, and no I generally don't play them.
And the only times I have ever had anything to say about your feature requests are when you go off topic. Let's not twist things around. Try and have a good evening! :-D
heavenlyemma: Oh well that is no good to me then with 42 kids and 613 games and only one candle to play them all the candle will have gone out before I finished.
rod03801: Thats what we will start calling them ROD 1 HOUR & 9 MINUTES.That is the longest any of them have went.I have played many of them and so have others.AS far as requesting the .5 why don't you because ever time i have made a request on the board you put me down. You have done this to me since i have been on this SITE.For all this taking about them .If you don't like them then DON"T PLAY THEM :)
heavenlyemma: I tried one short time Fisher game once, then had to do things and lost the game. You've got to be able to stay at the screen without interuption. With two kids .. No chance of that
Mousetrap: Nope, it's like the clocks they use in professional chess matches. You get a fixed amount of time to play all your moves. So if you take 5 minutes making your first move you've only got 55 minutes left to complete all the others.
It's nice but no good if you've got other things that take up your time like kids
heavenlyemma: Well what the heck is all the fuss about then? One hour means one hour right? That is to complete the game right? There, sorted! Oh I see just to make a move so its an hour a move? This is too much for my poor ole head!
Mousetrap: It doesn't mean forever mouse, it means you've got one hour to do all your moves. As I found out recently in a game I played and timed out on.
