Subject: no fonts
When using the style no-fonts, which now applies to the Message Box list. There is something still makeing the message list really small - which then transfers over and makes the favourite boards & Fellowships list in the right column small also. Can we get out that small font from the discussion board for the no-font theme also? Thanks.

Fencer: Darn - it works now.

I had hoped you would say I would have to live with it, then I could then say if I have to live with Castle, I would tell you I would then need a quick submit button near the top of the screen - Feature requests (BIG BAD WOLF, 2007-03-16 04:36:48) (Which of course I still want very much - but don't have a good excuse now...)

Subject: Persistent style switcher
I'm guessing this is what the problem is - but when I choose the no-font style that I like better, and go to another page - the page loads completly with the castle theme then after it is loaded then switches to the nofont theme that I like. I'm almost positive it did not do this before - and a reason I pick the nofont is so it will load on the screen faster without having to load and display all the different images - and having it load completly with the castle theme first and then suddenly switching to the correct theme on every page load - that will start to get VERY old VERY fast. Any way we can have it load the theme we like from the start?

"Snoopy": I like the idea of creating some sort of smiley filter so we don't have to look through 400 smileys when I wouldn't use 50% of them.

Speaking of that - Fencer, is there a way that you can see how much each smiley is used? That is, is there a way to see if certain smileys have not been used much if any during the past 30/60 days? I ask since I'm sure there are some that could be removed and most users would not even know what is missing.

Also a suggestion - would be cool if a user could upload 5 personal smileys that only that person could use. For example I could upload Good Game smiley - http://coan.net/bk-smile/2/very-favorite/goodgame.gif - where only I could use it. (Of course each smiley needs to be approved before being uploaded - like user icons) (and of course limit it to a very small size)

Subject: Re: You know what guys ?
krybulon: Well first I would say that ponds is just another game on the site just like Chess, Backgammon, Jungle, or Frog Finder.

I would also say Stairs is just a different way to compete - kind of like Tournaments. There is another site I play at that I was a free member, and only once they started to have regular tournaments - I upgraded to a paid membership. Heck, on of the main reasons I purchased my first membership on this site was so I could create my own tournaments. Yea, the games I liked got me here - but a non-game thing like being able to create my own tournament was the biggest reason I paid for my first membership. Going along with that, having a template to create my tournaments would be very welcomed (that is if i could also add tournament name & description to template - otherwise they are worthless to me).

I would still love to see the brains / action points turned into it's own game type system - that is do something like you earn points for moves, wins, etc - but be able to use those earned points to put up for prize, wadger in game against others, trade, give away, purchase items like a personailzed rook icon (maybe a purple rook), or purchase the ability to have your own unique smiley to use that no one else can use. I could be a very nice system which the brains & action points just scratch the serface. But a system like that would also be something that would keep users here longer.

For example - what is better: (1) a user who comes on once a day, plays their 20 games then leaves until tomorrow, or (2) a user who comes on and plays their 20 games, then checks out the discussion boards, then does some other stuff, then plays a few more games since they are here, and etc.... leaving them on the site longer giving this site more opponents online at one time. Because without the "extras", people would play then leave. After awhile with no one around that gets a little boring. I can think of a couple of site which I like their games, but nothing "keeps" me there - so I slowly grow away from the site where I don't even start new games there.

Subject: Tournament Template
I love the idea of tournament templates - I started to play around, but it looks like it does not save tournament name or descriptions (which is the hardest part for me)

Any chance we can be able to have this information also saved in the template? For example, I would like to save in the tournament name "Fast Start - First 5 to sign - Backgammon #" - where I can then just add the next number myself.

Plus the description is always the same also, and would make since if someone can save that information in the tournament template also.

Thanks for posting about this - I thought I had disabled all of my invites, but after reading this I found that they were all still there - since I guess it did not accept it when I chose to show no invites.

So I just made it so only 1 game is shown - even though I will reject those invites also. Would also like to see it possible to turn off all invites instead of the all but 1 invite.

I know some places play a small strait at 1-2-3-4-5, and a large strait as 2-3-4-5-6. So for players who are use to playing with those rules, it can be a little confusing.

On this site - small strait is 4 dice in a row (1-2-3-4, 2-3-4-5, 3-4-5-6), and large strait is 5 dice in a row (1-2-3-4-5, 2-3-4-5-6)

The company I get my internet through now is local, but I use to use one where it would show me from about 200 miles away from where I'm actually at - because that is where there "home" office was and where their IP was all registered at... and all traffic would be routed through there.

Well I can see it now - there is Fencer, our leader floating in a pool on a very nice tropical resort. Just then some idiot user comes along and says "HEY, I have a stupid question" in which drives him a little nuts. Just then he jumps out of the pool and runs into the jungle. While running through the jungle, he watchs out for the snakes and spiders. He soon finds himself in middle of a green swamp with frogs everywhere. He finishes off his dream by shooting all the frogs he can find.
... opps, looks like he hit a monkey also. Opps.

Pbarb2: You can't "delete" boards - but you can do what you said (change name of board to "." - so most will not find it.

To delete all messages, either click delete on all messages, Ask Fencer to do it for you, or probable the best - click "Edit" and change the read access to "Brain King" - that way not even you can see the messages in the board (so it looks like everything is gone)

Then just post in the description of the board "This board is closed." or something like that.

As a side note, I've played with the king-queen rule in 3 test games, and I was still able to win all 3 games as black. (just a lot closer) Of course there are a few other rules on how spaces are counted that was not in place at that time.

(I think Fencer can put 2 months of Knight into 1 month of Rook membership extension - but you would have to ask Fencer about that.)

There is a list which list the 21 movies. Right under the list, it also mentiones 2 movies not on the list

Casino Royale (1967 version) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casino_Royale_%281967_film%29

Never Say Never Again (1983) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Never_Say_Never_Again

Both are considered "unofficial" Bond movies because they are non-EON Bond films produced

Of course if Fencer needs some more names, could also use the names of the 6 bonds:
* Sir Sean Connery (1962–1967; 1971)
* George Lazenby (1969)
* Sir Roger Moore (1973–1985)
* Timothy Dalton (1987–1989)
* Pierce Brosnan (1995–2002)
* Daniel Craig (2006–present)

As for Ludo - I would like to see 2-dice version - that is you roll 2 dice every turn. You get our of "home" with either a 1 or a 6. And you then move pieces with the 2 dice your roll every turn. You can also split up the dice - so if you roll a 2,6 - you can move 1 piece 2 spaces, and move another piece 6 spaces.
