Subject: first focus when opening BrainKing.com
when i go to the first page ... i like to use the tab key to move to the boxes which i have to fill in (i dont want to remember my settings at work) as i dont like the mousepad on my laptop

but this costs more and more tabs as more and more languages are being added :)

could it be made that the first focus on that first page is in the name box ?

yes i am lazy ;)

i dont know why the html code is showing .. you can best post that question on the computer board

Subject: red numbers for fellowship boards
i am in a pente fellowship which uses both the english as well as the czech board (from before the change)

i see a red number when something new is posted on the english fellowship board ... but i dont see anything when a new message is posted on the czech board

could it be made like the fellowships show as they do right now .. but when there is a new message on a board then that specific board is shown expanded under the fellowship in the list ... a bit like fencer did it at first when he changed it last week :)

chessmec: ok ... i can live with draw offers only be made when the last move didnt contain a draw offer ... but as grenv i dont see the problem with perpetual draw offers either .. you can accept them, decline them, or ignore them

maybe you want an option to get the draw offers in your message box or not ?

Subject: Re: Perpetual draw offers should be prohibited
Walter Montego: that would create games which are in a draw position .. in which both players will continue making their moves ... never finishing the game .. and hoping the other will time out some day .. neither of them would dare to offer a draw as the opponent doesnt have to accept it and can just continue to prolong the game

sometimes a draw offer is a gentleman like way to finish a game

Subject: bkr shown on discussion boards
i loved it when the corresponding bkr was shown next to someones name when he/she posted something on that board

now most boards are about groups of games so a single bkr cant be shown anymore .. would it be possible to show some sort of average bkr of the corresponding group for that player (like the average bkr of both froglet games or when that player only played 1 variant show the bkr itself) ?

Jason: true .. we have the notepad .. but thats only 1 'folder' as well

as i am a translator of this site (dutch) and now getting some info back from some beta testers i would like to store those messages in a separate folder to keep them grouped so i can have a look at them more closely when i have more time (not from work ;))

i can imagine some pms being sent back and forth about some strategies in some games as well .. which would be nice to group .. so i can have a 'five in line strategies' folder with all messages about that

i cant do that in notepad either ... or there could be more than 1 notepad folder ;)

(ok i can always save things local on my computer .. but then i wont have it when i am at home)

to organize the messages in my inbox it would be great if i could create separate folders to which i could move messages which i want to store for some time ... i can then store them by theme :)

Andre Faria: it would be nice to have checkboxes in front of the game types in a tournament .. and a button to 'sign up for selected'

i dont sign up to all games in a tournament .. but often sign up for 4 or 5 game types .. and am using the back button now .. it would be nice to be able to do it in one action ..

(although it isnt a very high priority for me ;))

it could be stopped for making that forced move for you

like in anti chess i often hover my mouse over all my pieces to see which pieces i have-to move .. so that i can concentrate on the possibilities which i have .. that way i will less easily overlook something

if the forced moves wouldnt show up ... i would have to think about all pieces .. and likely miss some moves which might be better

so it can make it a lot easier for newbies like me when forced moves are shown .. but i think its less nice for better players who wont need it and might consider it artifial help :)

i only used 4 so far .. and i really needed them as i was in austria snowboarding .. it would have been bad if i only could have used 2 in my 2 day games

Subject: Re: timed out/resigned games
reza: it would be too easy though to perserve (or even raise it) your bkr in tournament games ... like when i am playing a chess tournament .. at which i can only win against a few other players .. and will lose the most .. i can know already when the tournament starts which games i will lose ... i will them let them time out (or resign?) within 2 moves .. thereby my bkr wont drop by those games ... i will only play the games which i think i can win .. thereby giving my bkr a chance to go up .. and 'never' go down

i only suggest this for tournament games .. as you are put against an opponent .. instead of chosing it yourself

i can imagine people making use of this

as games timed out (and resigned) after the 2nd move are calculated into the bkr .. why not the ones before the 2nd move ?

games which are deleted before the second move are something else .. that is the solution to games which are started by accident
(and you cant delete tournament games (i think))

Fencer: *nod* thats what i noticed as my win/loss ratio improved ... but my bkr didnt change (i think .. as it wasnt shown in the post i received .. i didnt check the actual bkr though)

does a bkr change if a game is timed out/resigned within the first 2 moves ?

i would love to be able to show only my best # of established bkrs on my main page .. or split the established and provisional bkrs into separate parts

Subject: timed out/resigned games
i recently have 'won' 4 tournament games (2 different players) where my opponent either timed out or resigned (i forgot which) at the first move

because it happened within 2 moves my bkr wasnt changed

i would like it better if the bkr does change on time outs and resignments .. but not on deletion of the game (within 2 moves) .. which of course isnt possible in tournaments

i think those 4 games did add to my win/loss ration though .. is that correct ?

tedbarber: i dont like matches either .. but its more fair the way it is like right now in those games where a certain color has a strong advantage ... when all games in the match would count you would get a ratio of about 50% for win/loss .. the way it is right now you can play matches to find out the real winner over a number of games and work on a real ratio

could please there be a way to disable this button ? (maybe via settings) ?
