have the rules changed about pawns being able to play ponds and I just missed the rule change somewhere?

LionsLair: and even if they are in the pond, they cannot play. It will not let them bid in the pond. If the pond is just starting, their bid will be zero. If they became a pawn in the middle of a pond going on, their last bid will be their bid until it causes them to fall in.

well they moved! I purposely made my move counting on them to not be able to move and they did....

LionsLair: But, when he moved, he may have still been a rook. I know his membership just ended in the last few days. The system would not let him bid if he was a pawn at the time of his bid.
