Wonder why Oldies but Goodies never makes the top visited boards list? I know there were 11 messages on it today.

Dolittle:I have noticed as well, that you dont even have to leave a post in a
fellowship, even if it just gets looked at, that counts too .

Dolittle: only 1 message per unique id per day will count

so if i post 3 messages on there, and you 4, then we will only add 2 to the total count for the visited boards list

(i think)

Dolittle: When you go to see the messages on a board you are counted as a visitor. For the rest of that day you are not counted again for that board, even if you keep going there to see new messages.
What counts is the number of different visitors to the board (readers), not the number of posters.

Dolittle: you cant.. thats not what they mean hun
they mean each person from the FS can only post once a day to make it count no matter how many times a day they post in that FS

Rose: Close enough. Except that it's not the act of posting that counts but the act of opening the board page. You don't even have to post to be counted as a visitor, just open that page.
So, if someone posts a post just before midnight (server time), and then 100 people go there to read it the next day, it may become one of the most popular boards, even if no messages are posted for that whole day...
