Subject: 10,000 move achievement
I'm curious as to how anyone manages to achieve this...
I can think of some strategies that a person might use if they wanted to get the achievement but I am interested in how people have specifically managed to do it.
86,400 seconds in a 24hour period, so 8.64 seconds maximum per move if one plays for 24 hours non -stop.
Perhaps if one knows someone else who also has the desire to achieve it one keep just continue playing against that person solidly. If one picked a game like go, one could make a lot of moves before having to chew up valuable seconds starting a new game. If one set the game to being a match with the highest possible number of games it would reduce the time spent creating or finding new games.
It would help if one was a Black Rook, so that one could create as many games as possible in advance of the 24 hour period beginning.
If the two players memorised the series of moves for an entire game, I suppose they could just keep replaying the same game over and over again - thus saving time by being able to make their moves as eflex actions...
I would welcome others thoughts about the subject or experience of having completed this achievement.
Thanks,
King Pyrhus

King Pyrhus: the 10000 is not in 1 day. The only 1 I see for 1 day is mark 2000 moves. Back to the 10000 can be backgammon two player game but not all to the same person. If I'm not right moderator please just remove this message.

DeaD man WalkiN: Thank you, I didn't realise that. I'm sure I've seen some people have made over 10, 000 moves per day though. It seemed a bit extreme to me, but if that's what they enjoy... :)

King Pyrhus: Agreed, it seems a bit extreme. But did you ever see the Guinness Book of records? ;-)

Papounet: These are of course 2 completely different things. And numbers.

Yes, the 10,000 one is indeed in one day. (Server time - which is of course important)

The other is 100,000 - and that is in general, over time.

I think there was some confusion, earlier in the thread between these 2.
You pointed it out nicely.

King Pyrhus: to make 10k moves a day you could start a LOT of easy games like ludo for example with various fast playing opponents, in different parts of the world, to make sure someone will play at your night time as well:)

then as you calculated : there are more than 80k seconds in 24 hours, so you have more than 8 seconds per move .. which is more than enough in easy games

the main point is : your have to make sure you always have games waiting for your move, so you need a lot of games, and fast playing opponents

Hrqls: I would start with making sure your computer is fine tuned and responding lightning fast with no scheduled scans for the next 24hrs.

With ludo games you still have to "find" a piece to click.  I still think twenty or so unrated uncounted linetris games with a fischer clock of .1/.1/.1 will do the trick better than any game out there.  Just keep clicking in the bottom row and you can go forever...  literally...  or until one of you stops playing.  :-)
