I'd say all those 'players' not active since at least 2003 should be removed. 14. As a side note, I would almost bet if someone *REALLY* wanted a user name that had been used in the past (but not accessed in the past 1+ year), I'm almost certain Fencer could work something out for you personally to be able to change into that ID. On games that they've played their profile link (if they even have one) could refer either to a Deleted User page which covers them all or to an Archived User page which retains some or all of the original information.
So a "purge" of this sort needn't affect any ratings or histories or anything. I think it would be welcomed by many people. It might severely impact on Fencer's project time, though.

That's not a big issue. Moreover, our monitoring system logs all downtimes and we know exactly what the performance is. Of course, we cannot be responsible for network problems outside our scope. 13.
