Moreover, the site is changing very often and the traffic and load is increasing, so what was the optimal code a year ago doesn't have to be the most optimal code now. And since any change is very sensitive, cannot be done within a day.
I think the most important thing is that the site is up and running most of the time (and from my point of view, it's running almost continuously but I understand that network issues can make it different for international users). Which is a good example of a situation we are NOT responsible of and we can do nothing with it. We can only send a complaint to our serverhousing provider and ask him to have a look at it.
