Most major browsers have a password saving feature.

27. Fevereiro 2004, 13:03:15
rabbitoid
does this mean I'll have to type my name and password every session?
(prepares room for yet another postit on the screen, muttering)

27. Fevereiro 2004, 08:37:18

thats certainly a good reason!
I am unable to log-out as well as some others, and thought it was because of WebTv.

27. Fevereiro 2004, 08:30:21

Yes. Some web browsers occasionally fail to delete the permanent cookie. Disabling auto-login feature will increase the security of user accounts.

27. Fevereiro 2004, 07:51:19
bwildman
is there a problem with it?

Auto Log will be removed from BK 2.0.

Auto Log in may be your problem. Go to your profile. Click on "Edit"... scroll down and see if the box is checked next to auto log in... un check it if it is checked, and then try logging out..

Oh now behave Steve! I only cleared a couple of messages. This board is for posts about BrainKing, not for having a laugh and a chat. Theres plenty of other boards you can do that on (like I need to tell YOU!!)

Not sure what happened....
I recently posted her, and on uncensored debate, and on debate club, and all of my most recent posts are gone now????
On the debate club board, all see is the very first post whic is linda saying welcome and have fun debating...(i assume it is the first post) and nothing else is there.

I have also begun to see the white screen again, and the 'can't use that type of info' pop up.

Anyone else? or just me?
Thanks :(

We've switched from 220 to 380 volts :-D
Well, actually, Liquid's made one neat trick with our database.

Dont want to tempt fate, but what has changed to allow the site to be running so well considering there are 140 players online?

I'm sure Harley would appreciate it if we took the WebTV/cookie topic over to our discussion board at the Club WebTV fellowship..

It could use some posts, anyways!
:-)

And if you're a rook or knight using webtv and not yet a member, please message me!

There is a computer board on here and they have some very knowledgable advisors on there...It might pay to take this to that board.

Actually having only three passwords is -not- smart.

As for the white page, I generally just hit reload. As for the 'item that cannot be used'... never saw that one. Not WebTV.

This is true Chuck. However I am smart and only have like 3 different passwords I use. I know which one is for which websites. If people are smart they have them written down or stored somewhere too.

Perhaps the pawns should have a pawns(and white king)-only fellowship where they could post their thoughts on us where we couldn't read them? (And have one non-rated tournament going in the fellowship at any one time.)

Thats one time for every site you visit, and sometimes remembering wich ID and password you used, or email addy, can be trouble :)

then you just have to log in one time and it's back to the way it was. the few times that i've done it, it did seem to speed things up, but i don't do it very often.

It is also debatable whether it makes any difference, or helps at all.

Again, the downside is that you will lose all of your auto log ins, and for some people, that is a huge downside problem....

it's on your webtv homepage, the go to help or tips, and it will direct you to the link, it's very easy. then you will have to re-log in to all your websites.

Start at your MSNtv home page. Click on MSNTV tips. From there go to settings heading on the right hand side of that page and click on delete your cookies. Push try it when you get to the net screen, that will bring up an utilities page. Go down to the end to click on the reset cookies button. Then it will be done. The only down side is that once you turn off the unit you will have to log on to whatever sites you need a password to get into. I have the sites automatically recall my password so I can avoid logging in each time but when you do the cookies delete you will have to reset that option on various websites.

CurrentRiver: sorry that I don't know enough about WebTV to help you. (I'm sure someone will post here soon and help)

But if you do have WebTV, you should join the WebTV Fellowship - I don't know how much chatting goes on in there, but it would be a good place to check out!

I cleanout my cookies and have fewer problems after that with all websites. The only problem then is I have to relogin everywhere that i have a password. I normally have the login saved so I get right in but after you wipe out cookies you have to log back in again.

This is a frequent problem with WebTV. Powering off and powering back on ALWAYS fixes it. (Until the next time anyways.)
