Just saw a Korean movie called Tae Guk Gi (called brotherhood of war in Canada) Pretty amazing movie and worth a rental for sure. Dubbed and/or subtitled in English.

the french version is a riot,it makes the remake look lame

On a side note I also remember that " the lady in red" was one of the first movies (but not the first) to get slapped with a PG-13 rating. Anyone out there know which movie was the first to recieve a PG-13 rating?

but this remake did not do all the bits that made the original hilarious.
and what they did do,they failed to make it funny,as it was in the original.

Anybody ever see 'Shadowzone'? It's a good horror sci-fi flick :)

If anyone is looking for a good high-octane action with a decent plot a-la Con Air or The Rock; I thought the movie Hostage was pretty entertaining. It came out on video last week.

Rose: I know what you mean about Fight Club. It's like watching a completely different movie the second time through.

Pawnchucker: I saw fight club when it first came out and then saw it again just last month. WOW! I go sooo much more out of it the second time around.

Rose: I agree with you about movies like Memento or Butterfly Effect. Once the so called cat is out of the bag the movie loses most of its effectivenes. The exception are movies that have "movies within the movies" that change tone upon repeat viewings such as Fight Club, Usual Suspects, 6th Sense.

This used to be one of my favourite films.....watched it at the cinema & we were talking about it for days! It was made in 1990, pretty old now, but still definately worth watching if you havent seen it

There aren't many films I'll watch more than once. Con Air, Goodfellas, Cape Fear - those types I will.

I watched a great film last night, its called 'The Frighteners'. Comedy horror, its well worth watching, hilarious!

Pawnchucker: The only thing with a movie like Memento is once you've watched it once you dont want to see it again. I found that with Butterful effect. Although I thought it was a great movie, I may not see it again.

Memento was quite interesting.

For head-trip kind of movies, I've always liked Jacob's Ladder
