It was introduced at about the same time as the 2 square pawn move to combat the effect of evading the enemy pawn too easily. Other rules introduced at about the same time: Castling. Unlimited Queen and Bishop moves. There aren't that many rules really, it shouldn't be hard to learn them!! It would open a small box with a table of two columns - your language and the selected language - and you would click on a chosen phrase which would be added to the text area. |
