grenv: No need to compromise. Autoplay is an option. If I turn it on, my moves are automated where possible. I don't see why the opponent should care one way or the other.
I care. If I play a combination move in many checker variants, where my opponent has to play a forced move (easy because in many variants you cannot decline taking your opponents piece), why have to wait a week for a forced move, you already know is going to come, and there isn't a single thing the opponent can do (other than resigning) to prevent it.

I see autoplay not any different from playing two stones in connect-6, 5 colours in Logik, or rolling three times in Dice Poker. In those games, noone is saying "but I want to mindlessly push a button in between my opponents moves". So why would they insist on doing so in a forced move play?
