no offence taken Jason :o)
like I said earlier, we are all on the same side here...its a very serious issue worth discussing and finding new ideas. Also like I said earlier, I agree with Chatty, the help/info page is a great idea, anything to help & assist has got to be a positive step :o)

Jason, I worked for Children at Risk for 5 years...a childrens charity in partnership with the the probation service. Not only have I worked with abused children & children seriously at risk for a variety of reasons, I have also worked with medium & high risk offenders. So beleive me, I do know the seriousness of this topic

Yes Chatty I agree, how do we know? We have to trust what people say to a certain extent, but I believe you can still get a 'feel' for a person, as an adult, but children are much easier led. All I can suggest for this site is to monitor who the child plays and the converstions that do take place with their opponents

Yes thats true....there is going to be times where that child will not have satisfactory supervision whilst using the net unfortunately. I wish there were tighter controls implemented so that children are more protected.
I dont agree with having a tag next to their name stating they are a minor though, I think this would be like a beacon to attract unsavioury characters! I have worked with childrens groups were the group leader insisted that the children wore name tags on outings....I was always against that aswell for a variety of reasons!

Its not necessary for the parents to have to play on the particular site aswell, be it on here or anywhere, but it is their responsibility to ensure that childs safety & well being

Yes I agree, it is definately a parental responsibility to monitor any childs activity on the internet.
