Liberals get so excited over tempests in a teapot. After calling them on it there's nothing left to do but laugh about it.

If I was a liberal, I wouldn't be trying to influence simple minded voters unless I believed most Democrats were simple minded. They insult the intelligence of their own people. Either that or it's understood by all Democrats that party identity and loyalty are all it takes to be a good Democrat.

A simple minded grab for power may get you there, but once you get there then what? Then you get goof balls who have no idea what they are doing other than to try keeping that power from slipping away.

Then they complain that the opposition is not playing fair and is being mean, as though being a gentleman pirate is something everyone should strive to be. Aaarrrrrrh, give me all a yer booty won't ya please?

How many backyards do you have?

We've seen what's in your "backyard", and trust me... you won't be winning the coveted Red Neck Yard of the Week award anytime soon.

(you are overqualifiied)

And by backyard I mean "the windmills of your mind".

Artful Dodger: I don't get how he or The Col think they can get away with defending voter fraud... it seems their strategy is to call it anything but what it actually is. And if Canadian conservatives talk like our liberals, then I can only imagine what we would be hearing from their liberals.

Next thing you know they'll be against the death penalty because more Democrats are being executed than Republicans. If it was the other way around they would be encouraging the statis quo instead of kicking against it. But it's hypocritical of me to... to do what? To disagree with their point of view based only on wanting to insure standards of fairness are being equally applied?

Normally I won't quote what I've already said, but hey, why not... I'll probably be accused of 'nicking' myself. lol

The text of the purported Israeli cabinet memo is just that, text. There is no document as such and thus it is impossible to verify if it is indeed an Israeli cabinet paper of some kind. But its purpose for Richard Silverstein is clear. He believes it was passed by a serving officer to the politician and then leaked by him precisely to alert the outside world to the scale of Israel's military plan to strike at Iran and thus to reduce the chances of it ever happening.

An unprecedented public debate is under way in Israel on the wisdom of launching an attack against Iran. And this leaked document, whatever its source, and whatever its original purpose, has become an element in that debate.

The document itself is striking in both the scale and scope of the military operation that it proposes. It also employs a range of technologies, many of which we have known that the Israelis are developing, but this document suggests that they are battle-ready and fully operational.

Jonathan Marcus BBC Diplomatic Correspondent

This war.. Hooh, what is it good for.. absolutely nothing.

500 Israeli dead and leaking nuclear reactors.. Iranian civilians dead or contaminated (Mutagens being a higher death category then straight forward death) .. cancer, radiation poisoning and the unborn kids..

Iamon lyme: I really believe that the reason the democrats are fighting voter ID requirements is that they've exploited the lax requirements in some polling areas. One of their arguments against Voter ID is that voter fraud isn't really a problem. Well it's well documented and some races have been won via voter fraud.

I love it that Jules brought up Bush "stealing" the Presidential election. Bush had won Flordia and the election and Al Gore called Bush and conceded the election. Then AFTER that call, Gore changed his mind and decided to challenge the Florida count. The Dems got right to work searching for boxes of "uncounted votes." Surprise, surprise; they found some. Then there was the "chad" question. What a farce. In the end, Gore took it to the courts and the courts ruled against him. Then the democrats claimed that the courts gave the election to the Republicans! Wait a sec! They are the ones that started the court proceedings! They will do anything to win.

Alabama Woman Shoots Home Intruder to Protect Herself and Her Ax- and Knife-Wielding Daughters

An Alabama woman said she was forced to shoot an intruder that broke into her home this week in order to protect herself and her daughters.

Martha Lewis of Dora, Ala. told WVTM-TV it was about 3 a.m. Tuesday morning when she heard a loud noise, which turned out to be someone kicking in her door. Lewis said she called the police and grabbed her gun, then went to her daughters’ room and told them each to get something to defend themselves with. She said one grabbed an ax and one got a butcher knife.

They were at the top of the stairs when they saw a man standing there at the bottom.

“I knew when he stepped on the landing that I would have to shoot him,” Lewis told the station. “He starts like coming up the stairs and he said, ‘would you shoot me?‘ And I said ’I don’t want to have to but I will.’”

Ignoring her warnings, the man kept coming — and that’s when Lewis said she fired.

“It wasn’t like, oh can I pull the trigger? It was like when should I shoot? When will he be close enough that I know I won’t miss him? That’s one of the things that was going through my mind,” she said.

The man stumbled outside into the yard where police found him, WVTM reported. Police said he’s 25-year-old Michael Jacobs and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Lewis told the station one of the responding police officers said it would have been a different situation if she hadn’t been armed.

“One of them said we would be writing up a different report if she had not had that gun,” Lewis said.

Police said Lewis will not be charged for shooting the suspect. He faces charges of burglary and criminal mischief as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to WVTM.

Lewis said she’s had the gun for about three years but only for protection purposes.

“There‘s so much talk about banning guns and gun control but they’re for protection,” she said. “There’s no way that I could have fought him off.”

There must be enough people who don't know (or don't want to know) for the Democrats to be making this kind of pitch, otherwise it wouldn't be worth the effort. No one goes out on a limb and intentionlly says foolish things unless they believe it will accomplish their purpose... Anonymous sources reveal no new information has surfaced regarding a previously purported impending attack against an unidentified person (or persons) of interest living at an undisclosed location. These same unnamed sources have revealed that all other pertinent items of information are assumed to have been redacted from classified documents, and are presumably in the possession of the proper dope smoking authorities. It has also been revealed that these documents have been secretly classified under the heading "For No Ones Eyes Only" for an unspecified length of time, only to be opened and read by no one in particular after this unspecified length of time has expired.

On his blog this morning, Krugman took a break from his hiking vacation to call out the "Unethical Commentary":

There are multiple errors and misrepresentations in Niall Ferguson’s cover story in Newsweek — I guess they don’t do fact-checking — but this is the one that jumped out at me. Ferguson says: "The president pledged that health-care reform would not add a cent to the deficit. But the CBO and the Joint Committee on Taxation now estimate that the insurance-coverage provisions of the ACA will have a net cost of close to $1.2 trillion over the 2012–22 period."

Readers are no doubt meant to interpret this as saying that CBO found that the Act will increase the deficit. But anyone who actually read, or even skimmed, the CBO report (pdf) knows that it found that the ACA would reduce, not increase, the deficit — because the insurance subsidies were fully paid for.

Ferguson came back with a quibbling rebuttal: "But I very deliberately said 'the insurance coverage provisions of the ACA,' not 'the ACA.' There is a big difference." To which Joe Weisenthal of Business Insider scoffed, "So Ferguson's response was: Well, the spending/insurance portion of the Affordable Care Act did increase the deficit, and I was only referring to the spending side. I wasn't referring to the whole thing ... Niall Ferguson's defense is that he was being very obtuse and misleading."

Economist Brad DeLong is even harsher with regards to the ACA claim:

Fire his ass. Fire his ass from Newsweek, and the Daily Beast. Convene a committee at Harvard to examine whether he has the moral character to teach at a university. There is a limit, somewhere. And Ferguson has gone beyond it.

And that's just one minor point — it's only the very beginning. Ferguson's own Newsweek colleague Andrew Sullivan calls his "old and good friend" out for his "glaring omissions" and "sleight of hand." Sullivan promises, "More to come. The piece is sadly so ridden with errors and elisions and non-sequiturs it will require a few more posts."

At The Atlantic, and with the searing headline "As a Harvard Alum, I Apologize," James Fallows writes, "A tenured professor of history at my undergraduate alma mater has written a cover story for Daily Beast/Newsweek that is so careless and unconvincing that I wonder how he will presume to sit in judgment of the next set of student papers he has to grade."

I know that, but for some reason I had the same feeling when one of my kids would cry... when they were little. At most oldest daughters birthday party someone said she was middle age now. Middle age? If she's middle age, then what about me? So I called my dad, and he said "Yeah, you're an old man."

That's reminds me, we better saying something political or we could lose our street cred. Hold on a sec while I take a quick look...

Okay then, the bionic woman is not real, just a fictional character. Darn it, I was hoping she was real. So now I need to say something equally significant... Gilligan's island was filmed in Hawaii, so they weren't lost. It was all a hoax to entice viewers to tune in.

Next point... Not everyone in academia is throwing their support to Obama. Big deal, not everyone supported him the first time around. Those in academia and other members of the 'intelligentsia' who didn't speak up before are speaking up now. Big freakin whoop, I didn't say much the first time around either. But Obama should keep in mind that union thugs aren't the only bad asses out there... you don't want to cross paths with a gang of enraged geeks, wielding sharpened no. 2 pencils and ready to draw blood... it's enough to make a union thug's blood run cold.

Obama must be freaking out about all this. Where's all the love and high fives he was getting the first time? It's as though they've all turned against him. Obama is the only one whose feet are firmly planted on the ground, it's everyone else who are being mean and fickle minded and pissy towards him... and for no reason!
