I was disappointed by Wallace & Gromit victory (I was supporting "Corpse Bride") but "Crash" was the best of the 5 nominees and it's victory was the best decision the Oscars made in the last years.

There were a few bleak moments in the movie. but, there were also some triumphant moments too. Overall, I would say the movie ended on a positive note.

If you like the originals, you'll love this remake. Steve Martin did an outstanding job. Even my wife, who doesn't normally like this types of movies, could help laughing. There were some scenes that were absolutely hillarious. It was refreshing to have a comedy that didn't sink to the "Toilet" humor...well, except the "Sound Booth" scene!

Has anyone else seen this movie. My wife loved it. I thought it was a good movie, but not great. I found the dog's behavior somewhat unbelievable. I also found the "Misery" of Jerry Shepard to drag out for the whole six months. However, the acting (Paul Walker, Bruce Greenwood, Moon Bloodgood, and Jason Biggs) was well done. The dog training was excellent. It was a well made movie that I will buy when it comes out on DVD.

I was just watching Fawlty Towers on BBC America. First time in ten years and I don't think I have laughed as hard at anything in those ten years. Man, that humor is classic.

Rented Flight Plan (Jodie Foster) and Doom (The Rock) Both worth the rental and was quite surprised. I didnt expect to like Flight Plan but had a few unexpected twists to it and DOOM, although taken from a vid game wasnt too bad. (If you dont like gore, dont rent it!)

Tuesday: You saw a better film than me then! We watched 1984, its an old one but its the first time I've seen it. I was really looking forward to it because the book is excellent. My partner hadn't read the book, and I had to explain lots of things in the film that didn't make sense unless you had read it, and they downplayed lots of really important stuff, like the newspeak. It was there but not really of any importance. Same as the thought police. A huge part of the book but only a minor part in the film. Instead they concentrated more on their relationship, with lots of gratuitous nudity. I thought the film was awful, read the book instead, much better.

Four Brothers as well is worth the rental. Not great acting by Marky Mark. But then again in all his roles he plays a brooding, soft voiced bad boy doesnt he? lol

there's a decent selection out from monday including cinderella man (russel crowe as jj braddock), red eye (a good thriller, woman is forced to put senators life at risk to save her father!) ,the business (the rise and fall of some english gangsters in spain) and four brothers (revenge story with mark wahlberg) haven't seen four brothers yet but rest are all worth a watch and are better than most of the stuff thats been released recently.
