Modified by pyssso (27. January 2008, 00:59:01)
After any Message Box operation (delete, archive, etc.) we need an option to continue navigation, like the button "PLAY AND ...", instead of just staying inside. This could be like: "DELETE AND...".

Subject: Alternative (faster) Logik turn entry
I've just started playing Logik, and I've noticed that it takes an awfully long time to play each move, since it takes 10 full page refreshes (click on peg color, click empty space, repeat for all 5 spaces). It takes me about 30-40 seconds to enter a complete move.

I'd love to see a text-entry field that would allow me to enter my turn all at once, by typing it. After submitting that, I'd be taken to a page with all those pegs placed, where I could finalize my move or play around with it like normal. (It shouldn't replace the current method, just be there as an option.)

The text format could either be full color names (e.g., "red blue green yellow white") or individual letters (RBGYW). (Since we have three colors starting with B, you could use K for black and N for brown.) I realize this might be hard to localize, though. If so, perhaps numbers could be associated with each color and shown underneath them, and we could just enter the numbers.

Honestly, the details aren't that important to me. Whatever the format, I'm sure I could get used to it, and I'm sure it would make things much speedier.

Just like the little green icon next to a player indicating that s/he is online, I'd like to see a mark next to any game on the main games page where my opponent is actually playing (or looking at) that game.

Subject: Autopass & tournaments.
Would it be possible to have "autopass" tournaments? What I mean by that is, if you create a (gammon) tournament, you not only get set the time controls, scoring method and number of participants, there's also a tick box that, if selected, means all the games are played with autopass enabled.

This allows autopass lovers to play in tournaments knowing all their games will be autopassed, and those who don't want to play with autopass select another tournament to play.

Subject: Re: 2 random tournament ideas
mctrivia: yes .. the creator choses the weights

the participants who chose the games dont have any influence on the weights

those are 2 separate feature .. i dont think they can be combined :)

mctrivia
Subject: Re: 2 random tournament ideas
Hrqls: could work as long as it is the creator that choses the weights and they are listed automatically. Or each person gets to chose 1 game as there favovorite and the weights are blindly made that way.

Subject: 2 random tournament ideas
i recently joined a tournament from Flake in which the participants can select which games will be used as random games

so there are 8 participants .. each may chose 1 game type .. in the end there will be a random game tournament with 8 game types with those 8 participants

i like this idea a lot!!! maybe something like that could be added in the options for a tournament ?

another idea which comes from that is to be able to give a certain weight to a specific game type .. by this you have some influence which game types will appear more often than others .. so it would be nice when creating a tournament of random games you can determine the chance of a specific game type to appear (if the chances are not filled in then every game type has the same chance)

any opinions ?

But, of course, when you have an option to offer a double, it cannot be ignored by the autopass.

It says here that this game uses auto pass, but it in fact does not?

Is this something coming soon, or some mistake or bug?

Yes, I agree, you are the one who decides which feature requests are important - to you.  But I am the one who decides which feature request are important to me.
I was about to resign my membership after some years of pleading for a cube implementation on backgammon seemed to fall on deaf ears, and just before my membership expired you implemented a great cube version of the gammon games.  Because I love the site, I renewed my membership for the past two years, in the hope that some of the features which I consider important might be implemented in the future.
The current implementation of autopass is totally unacceptable for the cubed game, and several suggestions for improving it have been made over the last couple of years, but have been completely ignored.  It might be nice to have gold / silver / bronze rooks, but it does nothing for me - unless perhaps maybe I could be a gold pawn when my subscription expires?
I'd be happy to renew my subscription if I could see some evidence that gammon players requests for feature improvements were taken seriously and scheduled for implementation in some realistic timeframe.

Subject: Re: rook colors?
rednaz23: That would be an interesting idea. Something like:

2 or 3 EUR for a change to a different color for 1 month

or

10 EUR for a change to a different color for 1 year

.... or possible do something like above for "basic" colors like red, blue, purple, pink, etc...

Then do an "advance" one for some "special" colors for even a little extra money - like Gold, or even a "multi-color" rook.

I think it is a great idea - plus a way to get the site a little extra money.
