do ratings last for ever or are they only based on the games played in the last 12 months?

normal procedure for business people is to make back ups daily on different media (zips, tapes or hard disks). This way you have 7 different back ups a week and they can not get corrupted all at the same time!

I am sure Linjon complaining does not help to get the site better and faster, but messages after a pretty rude answer from Fencer as "applauding" and "well said" and messages like that sure don't help

OK Dano you can post 9 games with one click or is it 99 for Brainrooks? Gubbe is Swedish, I think Maradonna doesn't ring a bell. Gubbe means Old man, ask him about Ove Kindvall

Nonsense Dano, they also have to post 1 game at a time but they are doing it for one hour or more. I presume you like scrolling?

What is the use of posting over 50 games of the same type by the same player? Post a few and do it again when they are gone (or almost all are gone)

Make the pawn a free trial membership for 6 months, those who are really interested will pay for an upgrade to a higher level. Delete all others after that 6 months. I know some will make a new account but with the actuel "pawnship" it is a lifetime free membership! The membership fee for the levels is up to Fencer and Liquid. They have to see it as a kind of business, value for money will make it a success. Asking to much the players will leave, asking for just a pittance BK can not survive by a shortage of money

Gubbe, try to remember my messages as I wrote them. I NEVER promised a new server, i promised to contact some people about it (what i did), but i doubt i can find sponsors to create addicts. Chief KM: I never said I don't like Eddy, I feel sorry for him

no Gubbe, but he has played here about 4000 games in that time (385 right now) and playing on some other site: we call that an addict! What do you want, give him an award for slowing down the site the most of all

Subject: Re: suspended time...
I have an opponent in a screen chess tourney who didn't play for 12 days now, since he knows that i am winning. It is my last game in that tourney and can not enter an other screen chess tourney as long as the time is suspended, while he is playing every day in all kind of games except in the game we are playing. A bit odd?

Fencer, what I want to hear is an answer on my idea a few weeks ago of giving a life time rook membership to the one who can arrange a new server for free by contacting his connections!
For example the FIDE (World Chess Federation) or Mr. van Oostrum (sponsoring chess tournament for much more money) might be interested to do so, but i did not get any answer! Do you really want your new server?

A few weeks ago I did a suggestion and asked Fencer to give us any idea about the price of a new server. Never had any response from him, so will one ore two dollar per play help? No idea!

For that you're right, but they don't count the 10 or 20 year old games played by Kortsnoi or Karpov in there actual rating

Subject: Re: ratings
It is also in the Elo, they mark ratings from player who did not play enough games in the last year with an *, anyhow the FIDE (The world chess federation)does so, I am not familiar with the USCF way to handle this

Subject: ratings
Fencer, normally ratings are only calculated over the games played in the last 12 month (older games does not count anymore) Are you planning to do so also in the future?

Just an idea Fencer: give us any idea of the price for a new server and offer a lifetime Brain rook membership for the one that finds a source or sponsor who can provide the server or the money to buy one

The first double entrance is already discovered. Herculesbeast and Savage are the same and even play eachother to get one on the first place of a ranking list. He admitted it to me when I asked him about it. I am not entering this tournament, it takes to long to play a tourney with more then 100 players
