LOL
yeah how many times has he threatened about people leaving. And so far, NO ONE has to my knowledge.

Correct me if I am wrong please

Keep up the great work Fencer, it is getting better and better all the time and most people love the site and appreciate the hard work you guys put in

I think just two would be ideal.
Gold (10 euro per month) and Silver (5 euro per month) and maybe as rotating Gif's or something like that would be kinda cool

why do you constantly attack Fencer when something new happens that you dont like?
It is getting very tiresome yawnnnnnnnnnn

I think it is a good idea what he has done. I run prize tournies and you dont see me acting like a spoilt brat not getting what I want !!!

Grow up and let go. It doesnt have to worry you.

12. September 2004, 20:52:00
LongJohn
why do you make an issue of this all of a sudden now?
Seems you were quite content until you found out that someone had offered to donate 10 Euro per month extra to have a golden rook.
This is substantially more than a couple of prize tourneys here and there.

It leads one to ask, why did you run prize tourneys in the first place? what was your goal?

I currently have one running with 2 6 month rook memberships and I have already paid the cost of the memberships to Fencer. You dont see me getting all flstered about this do you?

too many would detract from the meaning and make it futile to be a part of it.
One or 2 different levels only would be a more suitable idea I would think

fencer has an alternate good idea
5 bucks a month for Silver. That sounds fair to me

Subject: Membership Question
If someone wanted to quit, why would they extend their membership to March 2005?
Is there a refund policy?

I personally think that if someone fails to make a payment in time they should be relegated to pawn status but maybe with Bernie we should make allowances for if she is late in paying :)
Keep trying Bernie

well I wouldnt want the internet police to get anyone for improper use of credit cards now would I.
I am just a caring soul :)

its a valid question
I have heard no other complaints

seems like only one person on the site is having payment problems?
I haven't seen any others. If any others are in fact having payment problems, let us all know so we can be aware of it. If not, then yet again it is obviously just an isolated case.

Does anyone know when your holidays get renewed to the full amount of 30 days? Is it by calendar year or some other moethod Fencer?

Subject: Unrated Games?
Does an unrated game still count in your win/loss even though it doesn't count for BKR?
A certain Canadian family started 2 tournaments recently and a lot of people may not be aware that they are both UNRATED

9. August 2004, 01:37:25
LongJohn
yes but we also had far fewer options.
eg I am playing a crap load of 1 dayers at the moment and after a days work and not online, I need to know all the ones that will time out first in order to not time out.
If I didnt have this option, there would be times where I would be in serious danger of timing out.

It would be better if we had both options.

Earlier today though to counteract this same game thing, I intentionally defaulted to "next game with this person" and also only chose people offline so that I could get my game count right down. That is easy now that we have the green dots and worked a treat this morning

9. August 2004, 01:30:57
LongJohn
I think the reason that cannot be done now is that Fencer doesnt have a column dedictated to "time of last move" If he did, we could sort by that field too and it would be easy to do.

lets think of a plan to lure the Arsenal team members to join BK
That could be a bonus. We may however have to discuss the Arsenal team in depth though to understand and perfect the recruitment drive

I just checked how many moves Kevin made yesterday for the 24 period.
I assumed it would at least be a few considering he is on for a couple of hours minimum.

He made NONE

Giddyup there cowbot!!!!

I dont have to play any games against him, you do P~~~~~~~~

I saw him again earlier today, diligently replying to posts etc while his active games sat something like 120 his turn, 8 opponents turn. I had to chuckle at that.

No skin off my nose, there are no prizes in those.
FYI I had no idea those battleboats tourneys were yours or that you removed me. I couldnt care less for your tournaments. I only joined because it was about to start.
I will not boot you from mine though.

others may have a differing opinion.
In this case, Fencer has a duifferent opinion.
Both are correct

24. July 2004, 17:47:26
LongJohn
yes that is YOUR perspective

24. July 2004, 17:44:15
LongJohn
that is only one perspective.
Another argument could be made as to why the person that beat the other person lost to someone else that the other person beat.
It is not a clear cut solution, it depends on the perspective it is looked though

ok Fencer.
However it would be good to point out that if Bernice was so touchy, why did she feel free to hurl around abuse initially without thought of repercussion? She seemed to think it was fine to dribble about me taking meds and stuff like that and if you notice, she always seems to be the instigator.

Bottom line, if she just learned to keep her mouth shut and leave other people alone, then she wouldnt get anything back. There are always repercussions for things we do in this world.

Dont stir the pot and it wont stir back if you know what I mean and I think everyone noticed Bernices constant slanders of me. Shame shame shame.

seems you misunderstood a simple light hearted joke Bernice.

I know it was working the other day.
Unfortunately I am waiting on moves at the moment so I cant test it tonight LOL

20. July 2004, 05:36:18
LongJohn
it definately now orders it the way you have it on your main screen
try putting it in player name order etc or reverse time order to put the longest game at the top.
It is kinda cool, I like automatically playing the game with least time left now, but it does get kinda offputting sometimes playing the same game every other move, however, that can be good too if you like it that way

20. July 2004, 05:24:34
LongJohn
"go to next game" option now takes you to the next game on your list and a move just played does not go to the bottom of the list anymore. It is dependent on how you have your order sorted on main page

15. July 2004, 13:49:58
LongJohn
dual IDs?

12. July 2004, 16:28:09

Hey Fencer, is there any way that you can track the number of times we click on banners and display the number similar to who moves the most in one day.
It would be kind of interesting and give some people a goal and hence create more banner clicks therefore creating more money for the site which in turn flows back to benefits for us.

9. July 2004, 03:14:10
LongJohn
yes, BBW pointed that out before I think.
I agree, that is kinda cool.

Also, the order thin is great now. Thanks Fencer

Yes it seems most people are using their own picutres. Mine hame is certainly an original. There are some that crack me up though like AD's. Too funny AD. I think I saw Pres Clintons out there somewhere too or I might be mistaken.

AD, I think Steve has a point and players like that irk me too and I think the point needed to be made.
Fortunately I am currently not playing any stallers like Kevin so I am lucky. The main thing people are getting wrong is their interpretation of time limits.
Seems most people think time limits are what you should take between moves when in fact the real reason for setting a larger time limit most of the time is to allow for unforseen occurrences. ie, I bet I could play a 30 day game of BG with Steve and finish the whole game within 2 or 3 days tops.
It is time people started to be considerate of others when it comes to moving faster

3. July 2004, 22:34:51
LongJohn
the 1 is for invites people have sent you I believe

3. July 2004, 22:32:47
LongJohn
If you have so many time commitments, why are you in Customer Service.
It is blatantly obvious that you do not assist in that, and in fact go out of your way to let games time down causing ppl to wait longer. No need to argue that point as you have just stated so below by saying that if they were due to time out, you would play them.

I think at least you should opt out of customer service and rethink your attitudes. there are others to consider and the fact that they have pointed out that they would prefer you to play faster should be reason enough for you to do such, and not justify your lack of speed.

Subject: Hey Steve
I think it was a little more sensible when cheapskates like BuilderQ who cant even fork out 10 bucks for membership were not able to post.
His comments on this situation obviously are only directed to try and make you more angry.
I think maybe it is time for people like BuilderQ to once again be banned from the boards.
Pay up or Shut up is usually a good motto :)

ON this time limit issue though, I still think it would be great if one of the previous suggestions of a set overall game time limit was implemented. Little boys with silly wigs wouldnt be able to delay games then.

In the meantime, I think we should all boot Kevin from our tourneys before they start.

Steve, very good point.
Fact is, all you do gooders brush over this stuff but dont you all realize this is a situation where someone, Kevin, is basically saying "screw you" to everyone.
It is insulting to all his/her opponents and if I were in Steve's shoes, it would irk me too.
It is blatant disregard and not very good traits to have if you are customer service.

You're Fired Kevin

Subject: I think this warrants investigation
CurbYourEnthus rates #7 on the backgammon bkr. Not too bad unless you dig a little deeper and notice a few things.

1. Backgammon Race results all against gamer07 and in every game, gamer07 resigned after just enough moves to warrant bkr calculation.

2. Backgammon 2004 and Backgammon 2003 and Backgammon 2002 obviously shows that CurbYourEnthus is doing something just a teeny weeny bit naughty to aid his BKR.

Fencer, I wonder if this obvious cheating should cause resetting of BKR or maybe it is just pure chance that gamer07 had to resign every game after 4 moves due to an impossible situation.

I would be interested in anyone elses interpretation on this situation.

oh good, so Fencer will publicly tell us that you have paid. That is great and a good show of spirit.

I simply want to offer people the chance to play a tourney faster. Remember, pawns only can play 1 tourney at a time. If we want to do them a favour, the more variety the better.

When is Fencer making the declaration of your payment and on what board?
