(V): Washington: Federal authorities have identified a Coptic Christian in southern California who is on probation after his conviction for financial crimes as the key figure behind the anti-Muslim film that ignited mob violence against US embassies across the Mideast, a US law enforcement official told The Associated Press on Thursday.

The official said authorities had concluded that Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, was behind "Innocence of Muslims," a film that denigrated Islam and the prophet Muhammad and sparked protests earlier this week in Egypt, Libya and most recently in Yemen. It was not immediately clear whether Nakoula was the target of a criminal investigation or part of the broader investigation into the deaths of US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Libya during a terrorist attack.

MEDIA ADVISORY

LEGAL PROCEEDINGS AGAINST SCHOOL BOARD SEEKS TO END
SUPPRESSION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS AND PROVIDE ACCOMODATION
FOR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS

WHAT:
Press conference

WHEN:
Monday September 10 9:00 AM

WHERE:
Queens Park, Toronto (in the Media Studio)

WHO:
1. Lou Iacobelli, Chairperson, The Parental Rights In Education Defense Fund
2. Parent/Applicant in the legal proceedings (to be named)
3. Albertos Polizogopoulos, Legal Counsel for the Applicant

WHY:
To announce legal proceedings commenced by a beleaguered parent against an Ontario public
school board which has continually refused to provide reasonable accommodation for his family’s
religious beliefs. The family has also suffered discrimination and been made to feel unwelcome.
Staff suggested that he and his children leave the Board and enroll elsewhere in a private school.

The parent has repeatedly requested that the elementary school attended by his two children
provide him with advance notice of any lessons, exercises or material to be viewed by his
children, which may conflict with his spiritual values as a practicing Christian. All his requests
over the past year and a half have been denied. He has been informed that, in the name of
“equity”, his parental rights and Christian beliefs must be denied.

The parent seeks nothing more than to be given advance notice so that he can either withdraw his
children before the lesson, or prepare his children in advance for what they may be taught.

About The Parental Rights In Education Defense Fund:

Our legal defense fund was formed after observing that parental rights, notably the right to raise and educate
children in a manner consistent with a family’s religious and moral beliefs, were being consistently
challenged. The Parental Rights In Education Defense Fund exists to help parents by assisting them in
obtaining legal counsel to defend their fundamental, inherent rights as the primary educators of their children.

Iamon lyme: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

Joseph Goebbels

“The most brilliant propagandist technique will yield no success unless one fundamental principle is borne in mind constantly - it must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over”

The "loony left" drive me up a wall, but are basically harmless. The loony right" on the other hand will not bow out gracefully, militia groups are on a steep rise in the USA ,just wait till they decide to "take back" their country

Teema: Re: Nixon was a great President , Romney doesn't have a clue
(V): I can understand the awkward juggling act the Republicans are attempting to a certain degree. With population trends as they are, they will be unelectable in another 10 years or less, so they are trying to cater to both the loony tunes fringe and the center just to survive. The problem is long time Republicans and centerists are shaking their heads in dismay.I see a 3rd party emerging for the birther/tea party factions, but it will only make it worse by splitting the right wing vote, much like our Liberal party has lost it's way by losing voters to the NDP.Our Progressive Conservative party was in that same position till it joined the (more conservative) Reform party. Many Liberals in Canada now see their only chance at regaining power is by joining our NDP (labour party)If it happens, our Conservative Party is probably in big trouble in regards to being elected.

Teema: Re: Nixon was a great President , Romney doesn't have a clue
Übergeek 바둑이: re" Of course, if we look at Democrat presidents, we will find actions which would contradict their "liberal" ideology."

That is correct. As the Republicans keep moving further and further right, the center also has moved further right. The irony of Reagan reaching heroic stature in the Republican party, is the fact niether he nor Nixon would be considered conservative enough to even make it past the primaries. In fact , if Nixon proposed the Environmental Protection Agency , he would have been looked upon as a Ron Paul level radical.
