Foxy Lady: yes Ma'am, that's how ours are. in a pretty, cylindrical china vase. i'd like to put them outside, but i don't want them to overrun our lawn and small trees and everthing.

Foxy Lady: no, Ma'am? Japan and China have some pretty serious winters, i think...i'm not really positive, but i know they have snow and stuff....

and in fact, a friend of mine in Nyack has a large and healthy stand of bamboo in his back yard. i forgot about that. i think it will handle our winters fine. (but that's no reason not to keep Yours indoors. :)
