Universal Eyes: I didn't successfully parse your sentences, but it seems like you are complaining that more people will sign up for a tournament if it has a prize? Maybe I just need more punctuation, but that sounds naive.

Universal Eyes: Im not offended by your "greed" analogy...but if that is the way you feel stop talking about what you have done and DON'T offer any more prizes.
That would save people from having to decipher your bletherings, and/or feeling offended.

Hello i have created in my fellowships a tournament for every game that Brainking has to offer, with over 200 members and close to it in the others i would figure the numbers would by pilling up,not so, but when i put a prize tournament up it's jumped all over, on that word which i have put up several prize tournaments in the double digits it just shows there is greed involved of some of the fellowship members mainly backgammon players, therefore i will be researching for the next Backgammon prize tournament for the removal of greed.I'm sorry to anyone that is offended by this but it's my opinion and forsite of the benifits of making Brainking even more so the best gamesite on the internet.

You could buy the book and run it through a scanner to your programs then translate it to English with one simple push of the button.

I completely agree,a team tournament for Hypergammon would be great for the site.I think it should be a 3 wins match for each individual player team game, due to the fact that it's a pretty fast paced game to complete.

HyperGammon is currently the 8th most popular game on the site - not bad for a week.

Oh, and I vote for a HyperGammon team tournament also! Lets say teams of about 6-7 players - 3-4 days per move

Logistics Man: If it's a tournament then, being a pawn, you can't join another until that tournament is over. Being froglets it could take a while. I hope you're a young man. It's recommended that no-one over 30 starts a tournament involving froglets or anti-backgammon.

If you do want to join another tourney then resign your froglet games and ask Fencer (nicely) to remove you from that tourney.

Assunto: Re: HELP!!!!!!
Logistics Man: If you resign (or play quickly) and all your games in that tourney are over. You can PM Fencer and he will make it so you can enter a new tournament (at least he's done that in the past). Also, if you resign before the second move, the games may not count in your BRK (although I'm not 100% sure about that).

lol, sorry logistics, i found it mildy amusing. i can understand your shock though, read up on teh rules.. and try your best you never know you might find that you actually like the game. Resigning would be a little silly unless you realy dislike the game.

I've just signed up to my first tournament. Being somewhat slow on the uptake, I assumed that I had signed up for Chess....imagine my surprise when confronted with 12 boards, complete with different coloured frogs!! I've no idea what to do!!!!! Should I bulk resign? Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.....but please don't be too hard on me!!!

i vote for starting options as well

lets suppose you start with 10 points for everyone .. then more than 1 player will bet 1 .. which causes a tied bet .. even a tied lowest bet .. which causes more than 1 player to fall into the pond

of course 10 points is a bit extreme, but the same can happen when you start (for example) with 100 points .. especially after a few rounds the lwoer players dont have much choices anymore and there will be some tied lowest bets causing more people to drop in 1 round

that's the bit i don't understand. I guess less granularity would mean more likelyhood of tied bets.

10. Janeiro 2005, 20:07:48

and people would be more likely to bet lower .. so more than 1 player can fall in the pond per round

what's the difference between 20000 and 1000 starting number in poinds? There is no strategic difference, just fewer numbers to choose from. The 500 bonus i guess would be more important?
