Fencer: That's why I have as a bookmark GameList, not BrainKing. What do I need the login page for, if I can just as well log in from the guestmode GameList page?

At home I do what I want, I leave a tab permanently on BK. at work (OK, OK, I know) I just take a peek from time to time, then kill the tab. so a bookmark is useful.

rabbitoid: Of course, where else should it take you? The URL with no additional parameters after the site domain always shows the login page.

Fencer: I don't think so. when, for example, while reading this forum, I click on http://brainking.com , it takes me to the login page, not the GameList page.

rabbitoid: Is it? It works for me with no problems. Is it possible that the Linux version of Firefox shows some differences, compared to the Windows one?

Fencer: I have the GameList page as bookmark, because the Brainking page asks every time for the password (even if it's only one click with password memorized), even if the browser stays open. The GameList bookmark does not.

ughaibu: I have been attacked by both of these at random times during my sessions on this site.

Error Safe came up when I tried to go to the tablut rules page, pretty much as Rabbitoid describes.

Fencer: you're right. It's not the login page. my bookmark points to the GameList page, and since I'm not yet logged in to the session, I'm in guest mode, with the login prompt on top. It's there where I have a banner, and sometimes the pest.

This ad takes over the whole browser so I can't log in, maximises the browser to more than the screen size (a nice gimmick) and adds a popup that firefox doesn't catch and that comes back when you first kill it. All in all, not the best publicity for brainking!

Fencer: My clock on this site always showed correct until just recently when America went to Daylight savings. My bad for assuming the two were connected without proof.

At the moment my clock is showing 6.18pm (18.18) and the site clock is showing 17.15pm. According to the link I sent in my previous post my clock is correct and the site clock has for some reason set itself back an hour.

I always have my time set to the Czech Republic for some reason.

Just because America changed their times for daylight savings doesn't mean that Australia did! My time zone now says that it is an hour behind the actual time. We are still on DST in New South Wales at least.

We all know that Brainking is not a charity operation, it has to make a living. So we get banners and other stuff, et least as long as we don't log in as rooks. Fine by me. but  every once in a while I get as on my login page A major pain in the neck called DriveCleaner which invites me to install some stupid thing on my computer or else. Fencer, can you PLEASE get rid of at least this sponsor? This is just one step short of directly installing a voluntary virus on your machine. See, for example, This link.

It seems that the site has suddenly developed a penchant for trying to fix something that wasn't broken, and this was mentioned before without remedy nor response. For several days, (some) games have shown up on status pages with "move 0" in the move column. For games such as Espionage and Logik that require a preset, it makes sense, otherwise it's patently absurd.

As it stands now, the move numbers are correct in games which you're the second player, but wrong (one short) for games which you're the first player. BK is otherwise running excellently, but this is quite a frustration, particularly when I see "move 1" which leads me to believe a new event has begun, only to find I've already moved once and it's underway. Why was this counterproductive change in move numbers made? (If it was explained earlier, pardon me, I missed it.)

Actually I was given my first bishop from an unknown donor. After that I paid for my 12 months rook. That is the only thing apart from a free game for paying that I have been given.

ZZZ0100: Yes, the URL is correct. But my WebTV emulator shows it right and I don't see any problems with it.
Since I have spent a significant amount of time to create a skin for a device which I don't own and don't like, and I don't want to spend the rest of this month guessing what else should be changed to fit all TVs, you have the following options:

• Use a bigger TV.
• Use a computer instead. Especially if you have sight problems, a quality LCD display is much better for your eyes.
• If you don't want to apply the previous points, you must either start to like it or start to play elsewhere.

This is what was posted in webtv club by Rob & was sent to me (since I am not able to get into club webtv). Has this been updated? Because this one goes off the sides of my 27 inch tv, & is hard to read... And the headers are red.. or red-orange, or whatever you want to call it, anyway it is very bright... And the person that sent it to me doesn't like it at all, she says she can hardly read it because she can not see very well, and it is very red, & she said she has a big screen tv, & it goes off the sides of her tv also, she told me. I don't want to make any more problems for this lady than she already has, I am just telling you what she told me.

I have seen the new "skin" as you put it & the webbies I hang out with don't like it..... too hard to see & read..... Its too hard for the peeps with sight problems to see.......and it is too RED!!!! ..... not to mention it goes off the sides of the screen..... in other words, it needs work... a lot of it......
