Purple: true, but unfortunately,I can testify that these days, stalking is an equal opportunity employer.recent statistic show that the number of women exibiting abusive, dysfunctional behavior is on the rise.
but my attitude is not negative, there are many clever women, and men, with good karma out there.
I am not alone...lol.
PS yes Partica is a good one, there are many here.
another good thing about brainking.

Argomento: Re: "friends list"
Partica: I think there are extremes at both ends of the spectum on this subject:
I have seen people who, lacking a "real life on or off line" of there own,"stalk" people online.this of course is creepy & isnt right.
having had a real stalker girl on & off line where I used to work,I know it is no joke.
at the other end of the spectrum, some people are paranoid & almost anti -social & rude in response to any one they dont know inviting them to a game.this to is creepy.
the site should incourage but not inhibit people's ability to socialize & promote a good community feeling.but also,it should not be used by people solely to "matchmake".
were to draw the line,or how to do so is a complex question.
fortunately, here at brainking,I have not experienced much of those at either end of the spectrum.exept once,a long time ago, when a newbie.I invited someone to play & was immediately blocked without explanation..fine..life goes on...lol.

Argomento: a unique game idea
I came across this game:
http://www.freegames.ws/games/boardgames/hexxagon/hexxagon.htm
it is a game played like othello or reversi, but on a board based on hexagon shapes.have you ever considered a game based on hexagon shapes?
it is a different feel to strategy based on squares.

I have an idea for a good strategy game, but it is based on a board based on hexagon shaped squares.
before I go any further, does anyone know if such a baord is relatively easy to design?

Argomento: Re: lovelysharons comment re the doubling cube
the doubling cube would still work with the existing point system.adjusting the program to allow for a multiplication factor would not be very difficult.it would be a simple algorithm.

Argomento: Re: backgammon doubling cube-answer to viking's comment
the game playing strategy to backgammon can be divided into 3 main factors:
1-luck,it is partly a game of chance.
2-various advance/block ploys.many involving the key factor of bumpng opponents blots to add to his points or blocking opponent so as to delay point reduction.
3-unique to backgammon(thus its strategic appeal),is the act of doubling a cube.declining=game forfeit.thus this is an excellent way to judge an opponents & your own skill & experience.as well as gambling on the amount of games lost.

without the cube,it is not real backgammon.
the wisdom of this is lost to the novice player.

Argomento: Re: backgammon doubling cube...
...I agree, the doubling cube is missing from the backgammon here.I would love to know why it was ommitted when the game was developed.

Argomento: a question & an idea for fencer
1st let me say, this is a great site.I love it.I am a relatively new player.
question : fencer how you ever considered developing more games that more than 2 opponents can play together.
idea : how about the old fashioned chinese checkers game on a board for 6 or 8 players.halma seems to be popular here,so it can miss.
