How are the Team BKR's worked out ?
It seems it does not have anything to do with individual players in the team and there rating.
So i presume it is done on results for that team in either a Team Tournament (one of Fencers) or a challenge (against another Fellowship, or both ?

Tulip: there are several hypergammon tournaments in which more than 1 player have the same score in the end .. they are all declared winner

i would guess the same would happen if a 2 player final would end in a draw ? but i have never been in such a situation .. maybe someone can find an example ? ;)

it does on other sites....ive been in a backgammon final for the last 3 rounds now....we are on rd6

basplund: Even a prize tournament ? I admit that it should be a very rare case, but taking the BKR at the start at the game, or even at the start of the tournament (in which case it can be a compensation for having had the harder pairings), seems better. But perhaps not better that selecting the winner at random :-)

In theory you're right, but I doubt that anyone would do that much effort to win a tournament.

basplund: Makes me wonder, are we talking about the lower BKR at the time the game is started, or at the time it is finished ? In case of the latter, one player could sacrifice BKR points in order to win a tournament when he has a drawish position in the final.

WellyWales:  Thanks Welly!  I didn't find those rules on my own. In some games, like Logic, a draw is fairly common. I first thought my opponent had higher BKR, but now I see it was in fact lower, so that explains the outcome

If a draw occurs due to the game rules or an agreement of the players, the player with lower BKR advances to the next round (in case of equal BKRs, the player who did not start the game - black player in most games)

Hi there, I have a general question: on the game pages below the board, it says how many games of this type the two opponents have played and how they ended. Like

7 : 8 (= 2)
12 : 4 (= 0)
12 : 6 (= 0)

What do those numbers in parentheses mean? I wonder that since I saw them for the first time

If you hover the smiley, some browsers show it's code. Or at least you can right click the image, and check it's properties - the name of the image is the code of the simley.

But it's on the smiley's table

On the http://brainking.com/en/Board?bc=52 discussion board, there are a couple of links on the top about checking for spyware and such which is always good to run those every once and awhile. (Which reminds me it's about time for me to do the same.)

Do those results include Fellowship challenge matches or just Tournaments?

A thought (good for a Sunday morning don't you think lol)
As Team Tournaments take so long (well some of them anyway) how about we have more of them starting regularly.
Say maybe start 5 one month, 5 different the following month and so on throughout the year

Lots of Teams are not even on the list, does it only include results in Team Tournaments you have done well in ?
Also lots of Teams have a BKR, but dont have a ranking, why ?

Thanks

I know some places play a small strait at 1-2-3-4-5, and a large strait as 2-3-4-5-6. So for players who are use to playing with those rules, it can be a little confusing.

On this site - small strait is 4 dice in a row (1-2-3-4, 2-3-4-5, 3-4-5-6), and large strait is 5 dice in a row (1-2-3-4-5, 2-3-4-5-6)
