I wonder what a good name for these ponds would be? People could post suggestions for that too.

Of course, the other thing to think about Brainking, is you also have the # points match option. In this option, draws in individual games can count towards the score. (1/2 points). In a #wins match, draws don't count for anything. The game didn't even happen. I found this out when an opponent and I were trying out a game, didn't want to continue and figured we would offer draws to end it early. Wasn't working! lol.

Sujet: Re: Match Resignation Option
talen314: But that can be accomplished by declaring the match a # wins match. The point is, it doesn't work that way here, so if you don't want to run into that, don't use a # games match. If your intention is to have a "5 game match", and work the way you want it to work, just create a "3 wins match". Then, it would be a max a 5 games, but would end at the proper time.

Sujet: Re: Match Resignation Option
grenv: When created, if it is categorized as a 3 win match, then yes, it ends when someone gets 3 wins. However, when it is categorized as a # game match, it is handled literally, and it is a # game match. This of course brings on Draws, and and games that are not "necessary" for declaring a winner. I've never understood having the "# game matches". . Some people must like it that way. The "# win matches" make much more sense to me. I think sometimes people don't think about the difference when they make them.

Though maybe there is a "setting" that can be changed on the browser?

gogul: When I go to the Music board, I lower the posts per page, to the number of new posts that are there.

I check all boards, so I visit a different board before that board, and put the # closest to whatever the red number is, in the "Messages per page" box, before going to the music board.

Not a perfect solution, but it helps.

It should definitely not be argued about on that board, though. It should be dealt with by PM, and if that doesn't resolve it to your satisfaction, then you should go to the Global Moderators.

grenv: Pawns were not allowed in ponds. If someone became a pawn, part way through a game, then they stopped being able to bid. It was a known strategy that if you saw someone become a pawn, you knew they couldn't bid anymore, so it was safe to bid one point above that player.

The point is, to make sure people realize that this strategy would no longer work, because pawns would now be able to bid.

Übergeek 바둑이: Honestly, with so few games completed, the ratings/rankings aren't very accurate for you, regardless. The more games you play, the more accurate it will be. So, I really wouldn't look at as "dishonest". Through time, it will "straighten" itself out.

Übergeek 바둑이: Just to add to what Jason said, if the person times out in that period of time that a game can be deleted, it does not affect BKR either. So, while you can delete the game, as he says, you don't actually have to go through that effort. When they time out, you will see no changes in your ratings.

Because of recent changes to the Brain prize tournaments, there are a lot more of those tournaments. It would be great to have "Move and go to next prize tournament game"

Of course, an old request of being able to flag certain games, and having a "Move and go to next flagged game" would solve that!

There of course is the other option of clicking "play later" on an individual game, and it will skip that game when using the "move and go to" menu. That's what I usually do in that situation, as I'm too lazy to go to settings and add the other one to the menu.. lol.

Snoopy: Yes, you are correct. I had forgotten we could do that too. I think he would like to be able to filter the Waiting Game page too. It would be kind of a pain to click on each person in the waiting room to see if they are a pawn or not.

But yeah, at least it is possible to place a game in the waiting room and restrict what level you want to play against. Of course it limits the amount of people that would see your game waiting.

Unless I'm misunderstanding, wouldn't that mean the whole tourney would have to be not counted and not rated? I imagine most people wouldn't want to be a part of that.

Hmm.. actually tournaments can't be not counted and not rated, can they?

Maybe I'm just confused.

Sujet: Re: Team BKR
MadMonkey: Well, the BKR's listed at the top of the fellowship pages ARE based on team results.

The BKR's I was concerned about are the ones used for the Site-wide Team Tournaments. When you look at the the Table with all the teams in it, the BKR's there are the average of all team members. (The way it was originally) Fencer introduced the BKR's figured by results, shortly after team vs. team challenges were introduced.

I just want them to match. I don't particularly care which method is used. (Though, I like the BKR based on team play results better)

El Cid: Yes, I would like to see a little "tick" box up there where the filter that says something like "Keep this filter until unticked".

Not only does what you describe happen when clicking "More", but also if you play one of the games and go back to Main Page. There are times when I'll want to see all of a certain game type, and choose individual games of them to play. (Not necessarily ALL of them, or not just ONE of them). I go back and have to filter again. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice to be able to just keep the filter a certain way, until I want it to go back to the regular way.

Well, the one I have asked for 2 or 3 times would help get rid of SOME of the "Move and go to" requests.

Move and go to Next Flagged game, where you have an option in each game to "flag this game".

This would be helpful for games you want to play fast that don't necessarily fall into any of the current categories, or games you are especially interested in, for whatever reason.

Ahh, nice idea. That sort of would tie in from my request 6 or 7 months ago. I would like the ability to flag certain games. Then, have an option added to the "Move and go to...." menu, which would be "Move and go to next flagged game". I personally would like to flag especially interesting games, Fisher clock games and games against pawns. (Well, I guess it wouldn't be necessary for me to flag Fisher clock games since there is already a "Move and go to next Fischer Clock game")

Fencer didn't say no to it back then, but he didn't exactly say yes either! LOL.. so I figure since it could tie in with this request, I would repeat it.
