I can not explain the reason for the rule any more clearly than I already have. Fencer can change it if he decides to.

Purple: GST (Grooves Speed Team) was an online checkers team from 1999-2003. The leader was Favian Elmore (gst_favian) and consisted of very good online players, a few mediocre tournament players, and a few program players. These players played at IYT, Kurnik checkers and Yahoo! checkers. The team is dead now - I haven't seen a player with the gst subname in 2 years or more...

There are many checkers teams in kurnik checkers, and maybe some in yahoo checkers. These players don't play in BK or IYT. They are highly skilled speed players.

I started playing a checkers game on Goldtoken almost 5 years ago (Oct 23,2001). On the 21st of January 2002 I offered a draw and was denied. That was at move # 31.
We are now up to move # 146. A third party interfered and asked Badger to declare a draw. Badger messaged me and I declined the draw...Let's say I can be stubborn ;-)

"Have Fun": Eheh... I remember that. It needs pacience, but it's possible! Gothik checkers have much more possibilities than any other variants, so it's always hard to say it is a draw. I think it is only a draw in a 1-1 situation.Well, there are another possibility, in a 2-2 situation, but it's not fair to tell you wich, since the game is not finished yet. ;)

Sujet: Re: Draws
Purple: That's right... in IYT, they had the rule (a fair rule, indeed) of the same board for the 3rd move, gives a draw. We could suggest it to Fencer!

Gabriel Almeida: This is a 3-3 game involving one of our Tiger Club players. Fencer may not recognize a 3-3 draw since he is not an expert at checkers.

Sujet: Re: Draws
Andre Faria: It happenned to me too, and Fencer have done the same. I think it depends on the knowledge of Fencer about the game. For players who really know, for example, anti-checkers game, it's easy to know when it is a draw. To people who doesn't know so much the game, they might think it is not a draw. I'm thinking in a 4-2 situation, that it's clearly a draw, if the 2 pieces are together (and the defender s a good player)...

Sujet: Draws
Some games are clearly draws and even after 100 moves they will still be draws. If one player refuses to accept the draw offer it is poor sportmanship in my opinion. Does anybody know BK's remedy for this?

I'm not sure what the initials stood for but it was an elite group of highly skilled players who dominated the internet. I was able to assemble players who were to form the early KM and defeat all the GST players. We had Sartex, Usurper, Ronco, ZymetteBadbrain, Ustica, Nomad and a few others. But they were tough as nails..especially their best players.

gooner: Absolutely. Our game needs to be promoted. I know many former teen "prodogies" who have quit playing competively altogether. Something is turning them off. There is too big a gap between the champions and the next level down. Some of these pro's from Barbados won't play you for less than $500.

Purple: I thought the internet may have produced more "Keen" players who want to step further rather than just on the internet and play in real tournaments. The game needs it, yet recently at the English Championship only seven people showed up. The game needs to be promoted better and should start here on the internet.
