Sujet: Re: Drawing Rules
gringo: Because it's more complicated in Xiangqi, instead of declaring a draw I would have to ask the player to stop doing the repetition moves because it's against the rules. And if he refuses to do it, I would have to solve it again.

Sujet: Re: Drawing Rules
Anencephal: No, it was never necessary. According to exact rules of Chess, such situation must be reported to the tournament director [me] who decides if a draw should be declared or not.

Sujet: Re: Drawing Rules
gringo: Maybe I should code a virtual judge? We could use some kind of an artifical intelligence here.

Sujet: Re: Perpetual check
DragonKing: No computer understands the term "perpetual". It must be defined in a discrete math, for example 3 checks in a row (with the same position of all pieces) can be taken as a perpetual check.

Sujet: End of the game
Since I know almost nothing about endings in Xiangqi, can someone tell me if this game can be won?

Now you can switch to the third set of Xiangqi pieces. The newest one has been provided by Fwiffo.

Sujet: Re: Chinese Chess notation system
gringo: Sure, it can be easily changed. But I am not sure if I fully understand. You write "from 1 to 0", didn't you mean "from 1 to 10" instead?

Sujet: Re:
redsales: Uh-huh, I see. Well, as I said, I've just provided a set of pieces and I don't have time to improve it. Fwiffo already received the images from me and hopefully he will do the job better.

Sujet: Re:
redsales: I've found them somewhere. But I was told by a Chinese guy that almost nobody uses traditional characters nowadays.

redsales: If there is a volunteer, I can send the pack of current pieces and he can change the simplified ones.

Sujet: Chinese symbols
Please, it's not necessary to ask me individually to add Chinese symbols to the Xiangqi pieces. When I have time for it, I'll do it. Everything has its priority.

AbigailII: Yes, I can. But maybe someone could draw a better looking set. I use them only because I don't have anything else.

It should be fixed now. It happened only when a player was in a check.

Btw, you can replay the game either clicking on the particular moves at the notation table or using the arrows at the table top.
