Sujet: ratings question

I am new to this site and wondering can someone tell me how the ratings are arrived at? I'm primarily interested in how for the extinction chess. I see players with better won/loss ratios that have lower ratings than
someone with a worse won/loss ratio.
Is there anywhere on this site that explains how the ratings are arrived at etc?

Sujet: new mem help please

I have recently signed up and have been reading through the site. I cannot find rules info related to how things work. For example, I challenged someone to a game of extinction chessand they declined the game. So how do I get the best players to play me? Where can I find info related to those types of things? Can someone help me out with more info?
