puupia: That is correct. Every January 1, your vacation days are reset to the max. So you could have fun and set the rest of December as vacation days since they will be reset to 35. (and of course you can still be here and play your games)

And as noted, vacation days do not work with Fischer clock game, or fixed weekend only games (games with red dot next to time).

pauloaguia: Ok. Letting your opponents know about not playing seems like a good idea. I'll put some vacation in my calendar.

I thought my vacation days would not be reset to maximum when the year changes. There no reason to save the vacation then if they do reset..

puupia: if you set vacation days, when your opponents play the game will immediatelly assume those days and include them in the time left (assuming it's not a Fischer clock game or without vacations).
Also your opponents will be able to see on your profile that you're on vacations and for how long instead of expecting you to move every day.
On certain occasions you can even "waste" less vacation days if you set them than if you let autovacations kick in (not that it matters much - we're at the end of the year and you still have 35 days!)

I'll be out of town for a few days starting thursday. Most likely i won't be able to make any moves then.

I have automatic vacation on. Is there any reason to set vacation days to my calendar also?

Looking at my BKR graph, I realized I've been playing here continuously for over 4 years now.  (I started earlier, but took a break for about 6 months).  Gosh, it doesn't seem that long.  It's been fun!

Whats the difference between big boss and little boss, i just saw it in one fellowship. The little boss has slightly fewer things s/he allowed to do?

Furthermore, we have added a nice improvement - you don't have to send a payment in 72 hours to validate the bonus (like before), it must be received to the end of this year - 31st December 2007, 23:59:59 GMT+01:00.

So if I read this correctly, as long as i signed up for my new membership when the light was red, then when I pay I will get the second year free?

alanback: Yes, I'm aware this is in use elsewhere, but their game repertuaire is.... limited :D. Very. I'd probably be playing at DGS (didn't have this feature when I last played there), but I wanna play other games then Go also. Brainking just has best features and game repertuaire, and this I think would be a great addition.

Sujet: Re: Predicting opponent moves
seku:  Try Dailygammon.  "Computer guessing" has been working there for years.  You can make up to 10 moves in a row based upon computer predictions of what your opponent will do.  If the computer guesses wrong, the game is rolled back to that move and guessing resumes from that point.  Your opponent cannot see your move unless he makes the predicted move himself.

Sujet: Predicting opponent moves
I wanna suggest a feature, where players could predict their opponent moves, and pre-set a response for moves... or even sequences. This would make the games more interesting, as it would lessen the need to make "obvious" moves or forced responses... The games when you log in, are in state where you can really make decisions as how to proceed.

Andersp: the amount of snoopy's games is a left over from going for the top spot in 'moves per day'

its an insane race ... and this is the left over .. the number of finished games is just a side effect .. its an awkward list at all as someone who is here longer will have more games finished (on average)

i might feel sorry for the opponents though as they might want to play a nice game and now have a win by timeout

66% is a great target .. mine as well .. was there .. not anymore though i think

my 2 important lists from the statistics are win/loss ratio (66.6666% is the goal :)) and average bkr (2000 was the goal, now it is 1900 for more games :))

coan.net: I agree with you completely here... I am much more impressed by those who have a high winning percentage before someone who has 1,000 wins, but 3,000 loses... or even if they are even... :-)

BTW, BBW; 66% s good target, there are not very many that are able to maintain that, so good luck!

Andersp: Well with that, that will give them more loses then wins. I know myself, I'm always more impressed by people who have more wins then loses. I myself am shooting for a 66.6% win rate (win 2 out of every 3 games) - I'm currently at around 63% right now.

That is Statistics are just that - stats. Nothing to put too much stock into in my opinion.
