How does somebody increase their vacation days from 6 to 17 without doing anything to their membership?

Fencer: Unfortuntely it is, well for me and a couple of others. This person is wont finish a game in a tournament because he knows he will lose it, so he puts himself on auto vacation so the game doesnt time out. The other day he only had 6 days left, then all of a sudden he has 17. This is happening in quite a few of his games with other people as well.
