SunFire: Yes, you can cut and paste them to your Word program and then cut and paste them into your messages. ;) It's tedious but it works.

fencer could you clarify the message on the main page please "However, who follows this instructions now, will not be surprised if his password suddenly stops working after the upgrade is performed". to me it reads if we follow your instructions now that after the upgrade our passwords might not work .

Okay, suggest a better interpretation. English is not my native language. What I want to say is that who doesn't change the password now, will face an "invalid password" message on the Login Page after the database upgrade. And will have to use the "forgot password" form to reset it.

When we create a Pond Run and use the option for Czech or English, doesnt what we write get translated into the other language? We have had problems where we make a felloship for a specific group ie a fellowship or for pond winners only, yet so often someone who does not read english enters anyway?

I a confused as to what the Czech and English options are used for if it is not to translate for people who only read Czech or only read English?

Czuch Chuckers: I've yet to see a working Czech/English translator. Have you ever taken some Czech text someone has put in one of your games to one of the sites that claims to translate. More often than not it tells me 'it's untranslatable' or if it does translate it it makes no sence. And if you plug in an English word you can get back a half dozen Czech words all different with no idea which one is wanted. I'm not sure how people manage but my hats off to all of the multi linguel people on BK. It's all I can do to manage English

Fencer: Sorry!
I am glad I was able to give you a good laugh anyway :)

I guess I am just confused as to when we make a new pond run there are boxes for Czech and for english? What do they do differently? Is it a matter of the alphapet for each language or something? I mean, when I type english in the czech box it comes out the same as if I type it into the english box, doesnt it? What is the difference, and the purpose for two different options?

Thanks!

Czuch Chuckers: Have you ever tried to create a tournament? The system is the same. The purpose of two boxes is to specify a text to appear according to a language in which you can see BrainKing. Not everyone speaks English and when I define a tournament or pond, I always specify names in both languages.

of course you can write english on the czech boards .. just as i can write dutch on the english boards .. but being polite (as little people on here can read it and might wonder if i am writing something evil) i dont do so.

the same might apply to the czech boards .. some people on there cant read english (or not that fluently) and might wonder whats being written

i think that falls under 'netiquette' ?

Sometimes I have a problem where NONE of the graphics come up. But BK's performance is always good for me. I think the graphics problem is due to bandwidth at my office. At home, I never have graphics or speed issues.

well it is a graphic problem I am having also otherwise the site has always ran good, I am not criticising the site pauloguia, I wouldnt pay to be in it if I thought it had major problems

Its just that if you fill the board with complaints, other topics will get buried, and there really isn't anything Fencer can do about the performance of peoples PC's.
Mine is working fine, as are other peoples, and there are no problems showing with the site, so theres not much can be done.

OK,OK...I figured it out. Since Fencer prefers FireFox as a browser, He programed BK to periodically "Slow down" if you use IE.

Just kidding, Fencer
